    True.

I thought 2500 Ping rooms were the Midway servers? They are the only ones i go into when I am not hosting, as the lag isnt too bad. Still slight bullet delay, but just about bearable. Most other rooms you have a 2 second delay, and there is nothing you can do about it.
I've seen numerous custom servers with a 2500 ping value. I tried it out once I saw a EU (was in de description: good idea he?) server being hosted with a 2500 ping. It then got me thinking about the 2500 ping being a bug. Then again, I did some trial and error testing and logged onto 2500 ping servers that where completely unresponsive when entering play. Those were dedicated servers.

BTW: you live in UK and don't go into custom EU servers? You are missing out then, cause servers with a (stabile) ping value <150 are very well playable. I seldome have lag on those. Unless you use KB&M (which you shouldn't, but that's a different story): then lag gets more obvious I figured.

I think the 2500 must be a bug , as they are always better than anything more than 100... which shouldnt be the case.

I mostly host my own rooms , i try to add a description so that people know its an EU room, but I usually have a lot of people from consolegaming.eu in there, so the rooms are virtually lag free + fill up very very quickly. I am on 20meg, so normally host all my clans wars / open play. And KB&M are always turned off in my rooms

as long as u dont go over 300 ping you "should" be fine. i have purposely gone into the highest server on the chart and experienced about 5 minutes of loading time and about 1 minute of extreme lag. so bad when i shot a rochet the sound was there but it took around thre seconds for the rocket to show , and when it did i was long gone from that area where i had originally shot so it looked like a rocket was coming out of nowhere. pretty funny though.

It is funny at first, but highly annoying when it happens time and time again on most rooms you venture into...

I just played Resistance Fall of Men after a long time and it was awesome, the internetconnection is marvelous, no matter wich room/server you enter you always have the feeling like you are playing offline! no shot delays at all! its like having ping max. 5 ?

I dont know what it is, but it cant be zeroping since the rockets/granades also came out straight after you hit the firebutton,

i wonder how insomniac is doing this? It it the servers? do they have better server then midway? Why UT3 cant have this kind of connection?

i kinow what you mean. and to add to that theres not even enough servers to play on from midway.

On another note i connected my PS3 to a 1080p LCD monitor and looks badass!

I dont see many servers below 100 ping anymore. Including the midway servers which kinda sucks. I havent been online for a while on UT3. I plan to be on tomorow since I have the day off. Hope to see some of you on. So if anyone wants to play me...my PSN's in my sig VVVVV

I have a strong 20meg+ cable connection & the lowest ping I've seen is 66. But as others have stated, the results are usually mixed. 2500 ping servers sometimes yield great results, while lower ping rooms are deceiving. I've learned in the end that the best thing for me to do is to host my own room. My girl paid $60 for this game. Why shouldn't I do whatever I must to fully enjoy this phenomenal game?

If you have a 20meg connection you should be hosting, least then there would be more decent rooms to join which aren't retards with **** connections (yet somehow low pings) hosting purely for the advantage of it. I've played in rooms with no more than 4 people and no bots which have had ridiculous bullet delay and lag.

It would be kinda nice if when you are hosting a game, it told you the room's ping. Nothing incredibly important to complain about, it's just that when I host listen servers I can't tell if anyone else is getting lag.

I only have 1MB upload and 6MB download so I usually keep it at 6 people. I wouldn't think it would lag but you never know, since the actual speeds aren't as good as they say. If I knew for sure that my servers were laggy I wouldn't host bad rooms.

I've even played on 23 ping servers. The connection was very stabile. I'm on a 5mbit connection. No NASA stuff...

Epic requires ~100kbps up/down per player (for the dedicated win/linux side) so you should be able to host more w/o running into the bandwidth limit. BTW most "lag" when hosting via PS3 is going to be either client side (delays from high ping because they live too far from the host and/or delays from packet loss) or server side (host doesn't have enough bandwidth for the current player amount).
