I need Help with mods on ps3

Hey, just lettin you guys know i'm a noob to the forums so please be gentle lol

anyway i was trying to figure out how to get mods on my pc that i downloaded online to work on my ps3. i'm not trying to make them yet, but i heard something about a patch being needed and i was wondering, after i unzip the files and put them on a jump drive, do i really need the patch for them to work, and if so how do i install it on my ps3? also, can pc versions of maps and other mods work on a ps3, or do they have to be converted, and again if so how do i do that, if i can. thanks for the help in advance

The patch enabled us PC users to cook (convert) our maps/mods for the PS3. So unless you're developing you don't need a patch.

ok cool so will pc version maps work or do they have to be cooked and where is a good place to download ps3 versions of maps and mods
