Brad, I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I have to go to bed, its 4:56 a.m here, and I have stuff to do tomorrow(or technically today..lol). So i'll be checking back here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon. Message me, or post here, if you dont think you can make your tool universal. Thanks and PEACE. *passes out*

dont worry this wont affect you.. just a tool for the pc users.

although a server system being setup to automatically download and install mutators and maps will not be compatible for PS3 users..

Herecomesdeath map installers finished and working.. just coding the mutator installer

My new idea(new as far as I know): Right now, mods have to be downloaded (after they're made first of course) and then they have to be put through a complicated process to get it into the game. There should be a patch for the game, where modders can upload their mods onto EPIC's servers, then when anyone wants to download them, they go to the "Community" section of the game menu's, locate the mod they want, then download it straight into the game....For some reason, I cant figure out how to get the maps into the game, I have tried everything I have been told throughout the forums, but to no avail....It would make modding, and getting the mod out to people to play alot easier. What do you guys think?
The big problem with uploading and downloading directly to and from Epic's servers is that they're footing the bill for that. Hosting costs can be quite high, especially when you're talking about hundreds of thousands or millions of downloads a month of files in the 40+ MB range.

What I've suggested before is that UT should have an integrated torrent client, and all Epic would need to do is host a server that would hold all of the individual torrents (which are typically only a few KB). Once someone had the torrent, they'd automatically start downloading from all of the other UT clients that were open and had that file (and had sharing enabled).

Personally, I think the benefits of this situation would be huge. We would have one central location for finding any and all UT content. You would not have to leave the game to search for or receive content, and finding hosting for your content would be largely irrelevant (except in testing stages).
