Yeah, and I think the way it works is dumb...

The ranking system is POINTLESS because there are alot of people Using BOTS with AIM and Wall hacks. Forget it it means nothing

Oh please, not this again. I play thirty hours a week since the beta demo came out, and I've only seen a hacker 1 time, and I can't even confirm that. Just because people can aim doesn't mean they're hacking, and if you've seen wall-hacks, why don't you make a demo of it? I don't believe you, sorry.

What server might that be? I would like to take in my rank >60000 account and de-rate people with it. Err, I mean I would like to give myself a challenge.

How long have you been playing? My rank fluctuated wildly like yours too, but now I've kept the same account for a while, it has stabilized.

It's much much worse than POINTLESS. It is one of the ball-and-chain's that will keep this game from getting bigger online.

Maybe a couple but most are DM players.
They are all Warfare players. Just look at their stats, they've all destroyed power cores. Look at weapon statistics, most of the time, less than 50% of their kills come from foot weapons. (Don't just take "vehicle kills" vs. "total kills" as a percentage, vehicle kills only refers to running people over, not their turrets) and even when they break 50%, most of the work is done with rockets 30-40%. Also, know that spidermines only appear in vehicle gametypes and not DM, tho they still show up in the "weapon" tab.

Most of what I'm saying is coming from the old way UT2004 Elo worked. Heh, I just read about "team scores" which is funny if true, how a guy who's killed himself all match long yet ends up on the winning team will still score a "win" against the other team.

Taking these ratings/rankings to be accurate gauges of skill is problematic at best. More important gauges are the percentages, weapon stats, eff (not included, K/D will have to do), item pickups, and such to get a feel for how a player plays. For instance, you can tell there are some DMers out there that use 50% rockets and collect every bit of armor and health and camp rocket/health/armor/DD routes exclusively.

Ranking is based on ELO Chess ranking.
Everyone starts with the lower rank limit 0. Points are based on how often you trigger positive personal score events, e.g. kills, captures, assists, etc. Against your score are deaths, suicides, teamkills, opposing team scores, etc.
The lower the rank of the other player or team is, against whom you score, the less points you will get, so the ripping of weak opponents will get you less rank points, than beating a stronger (in rank) opponent.

                    Team Scores?

Aside from the individual player scoring in team based gametypes (TDM, CTF, BR, AS, ONS, DD), there are also Team Scores, that are awarded to your team as a whole, for fulfilling a gametype specific objective:

Team Deathmatch - killing a player from the other team.
Capture the Flag - capturing the flag.
Bombing Run - either throwing the ball through the goal, or jumping through the goal holding the ball.
Assault - achieving the final objective.
Onslaught - destroying the enemy core.
Double Domination - 'holding' both domination points for more than 10 seconds.
                    Thanks buddy!
I just wanted to post this here for anyone else interested in how it works. This is from UT2004 but we can presume it's similar to UT3

Do you change gametypes a lot? Personally I play Warfare only and since a couple of weeks my rank ranges between 40 and 150 all the time - I never drop more like that or get any higher. Given that you play regularly and on a constant skill level, your rank really shouldn't drop that much.

Its drops bigtime if you get on a server with a load of nubs
No offence to the new players they have to start somewhere, but it's bad news to your rank when you get on a server full of them

                          For example:

1.) You ranked at 200 and someone also ranked at 200

You play 1vs1 duell! I lose 2-10! What do you expact in ranking?

                          2) If you ranked at 200 and someone ranked at 20000

You play duell! I lose 2-10! How the ranking will be in that case?

90% of the names in the top 50 I see on the warfare servers pretty often.

Every single player in the top 20 plays in the UMG Warfare server enough that I remember their names. Except FlinstoneRO1234, I don't recognize that one.

@PyroFiRE: RPGWiZARD has been ranking in the top 10 for a little while now
