Any vids on how to learn to use the editor?

Yeah, I made that the title so all of you could come and yell at me to use the search function. Down, boy.

More specifically, I'm looking for brute-force videos. "Make a map in 20 minutes or your money back" kind of stuff. I find that I learn better if I force forward extremely quickly without learning important details (yeah, stupid, I know) and then go back and fill in the blanks after I can show something for myself.

And, using search, all I've been able to find are good, thorough, in-depth videos. Exactly what I don't want. =P

    Any suggestions?

the collector's edition came with video tutorials on ued. you will never make a map in 20 minutes other than a stupid one.

these links are for older versions of UnrealEd, but I doubt that things have changed all that much.

Yup, in 20 Minutes you would barely know how to even make a basic BSP map... it really can not be taught that fast... Collector's Edition is what you need with Unreal Tournament if you wanted to get into mapping. You still got the tools but the tutorials came only with CE.

GoW still does a few things in different ways, like build cover nodes does not apply to UT3 as far as I am aware but does apply to GoW... and even then, Unreal Editor only handles most things, it won't make textures for you, won't make static meshes for you... you need to learn other programs to do them, as BSP only maps just won't get anywhere anymore and right now everyone is using the default static meshes over and over... so they'll get boring... hee.

True. What's real sad is that there's a popular UT99 PUG match map in the #Speedpug community called CTF-AGB-MadeIn5Minutes. (I'm sure that map must have taken at least 20 minutes to make.)

Anyway, if you've never mapped before, plan on spending hundreds of hours learning how to do it and on making your first map. Also, it's much more complicated in the UT3 Editor than it was in the UT99 Editor. Mapping isn't something you just do...it's an engrossing and time consuming hobby.
