Hello!
many of you active forum members may have already noticed that I´m not so happy with how the "cooking"-system check downgrades the textures detail and much more graphics. It´s pretty much impossible to make UT3 look better than how it looks now. EPIC have also done a/some script/s that for example makes it impossible to enable motionblur on the PC-version.
The "cooking"-system check seems to do the following with the games content and others mods:
- Downgrades many 2048x Textures to 1024x and 512x resolution, without asking.
- Downgrades geometry, without asking.
- Makes it impossible to add certain effects that the Engine supports.
I´m sure there´s more.
My brother asked me: Why didn´t EPIC make a box called "PS3 compatible"?
If that "PS3 compatible"-box gets ticked on then the Engine makes a "cooking"-check but if you decide to not tick that "PS3 compatible"-box (in other words make the mod/yweak PC-compatible only) then the Engine doesn´t do a "cooking"-check.
I think my brother is right and we are both very unhappy with how unfriendly UT3 is for modding and tweaking.
I´m sure many modders and tweakers are quite un-happy with this "cooking"-system check so I figured out that maybe EPIC would listen to us (and hopefully post some answers) if this poll gets many votes.
Please vote if you feel the same.
I´m sure we could make UT3 look like this:
