Best game mode to play?

Hi, I'm just wondering what is the best mode to play to get your rank up? My rank seems to be bouncing all over the place. Any help will be greatly rewarded!

Yeah? It's great, I like DM...even when I rank 1st my rank still goes down, would it be because I'm playing lower skilled opponents?

To be honest i never realy had fun playing it in ut2004,but in ut3 it rocks

Hes asking for a gametype good for his rank, so DeathMatch.
If you're looking for fun, a 6on6 or 8on8 vCTF server is the way to go, if that is what you mean then I agree
Same here about ut2k4.. never really enjoyed it much there. UT3 the best gametype seems to be vctf for me

I suppose you should play whichever gametype has the highest ranked players. Look at the top players and see if they have many flag caps, or much core damage (looks like quite a variety to me, but some are clearly DM only).

Why care about rank though? It doesn't really mean anything (even I managed to reach ~100, and there are certainly more than 100 players much better than I am).

Game type doesn't matter, it's who you play with. I recently played a lot on one highly populated TDM server almost always finishing with top score. And not just top score but often having twice as many frags as second in line. And my rank dropped 100 places...
It looks like the easier it is to win and the higher you score the more rank you lose because you're playing with n00bs, and you are just giving away your rank for every lucky shot they may get.
