    Wait for UTComp to come out, when you can pick what type of brightskins you get, or disable them altogether.

            perhaps you should look in mod releases, I released a team shader control mutator several days ago which has the ability to turn off bright skins.

              Is there a server setting for that? I'm guessing not, but think it'd be a nice option, even if it overwrites custom characters with randomized ones. Personally, I'd like it better than blue/red, but I'm not going to go customizing my character for every game.

                  Brightskins are the intense red and blue colors that appear when players move further away. So that should help anyway.
