What's the fastest weapon to blow up a power node?

I have always been trying to figure out what weapon would take down a fully healed powernode the fastest? I think it is the link gun's primary attack that does the most damage to over time, it may also be shock combos if they are made inches from the node.

So if you had all the weapons in your inventory (except the redeemer) which one would you fire at the node, and if primary or secondary fire?

Self destruct on the Viper. Prime it, aim it and jump.

Bio rifle alternative mode is them most powerful shot I think, only under the Onslaught weapons. Though you will likely to miss the thing since it curve weirdly.

Flak up close, link gun primary and rockets are the best small arms choices. If you're using a shock rifle up close, use the shock combo for faster damage.

Your top choices however are the redeemer first - kills everyone around too, and the shaped charge second - takes out a healthy node instantly or deals 70 damage to a powercore.

I'm not very sure, but on my machine, trying to blow the link node by shock combo is totally in vain.

Experiment with it. The shock ball has to explode close enough to do damage. Although no with the shock balls doing 55 damage themselves, I often use the shock balls to take down a node from a distance.

I normally use a flak or rocket launcher.
Not sure what weapon is the fastest though.

I normally avoid rockets or flak because I'd rather save those ammo to kill the people who may come to object to the destruction of their node.

I use the link gun most of the time but sometimes I use the stinger alt-fire. Since it's not a weapon I normally use I don't miss the ammo, and this way I still have a fully loaded link gun to get the node up afterward.

Weirdly enough I never even tried the shock combo even though I was using it all the time to destroy nodes in 2k4...

Fastest is shaped charge.

But if anybody has damage tables it would help.

i would disagree on shock combos... they work well on other players but not on nodes as far as i've noticed! i tried to alot of them up right next to the node, but it still seems like flak does alot more damage!

imo, flak does the best damage 2nd by rockets! dont know about links primary because i always shift to flak or rockets if i have. you could also just check the numbers when blowing up a core, you know the damage number (100-0) on their core? what i've seen there is that rockets do 3dmg to the core while flak does 4? and shock combos does 2-3...

The correct answer definitely isn't the scorpion's fire - which seems singularly useless against nodes.
