Soldier of Fortune II has the best effects for death.

A shotgun to the stomach made the intestines fall out
A shotgun to the head would blow part of the head off showing the brain
A shotgun to the arm and legs would blow it off leaving tendons, blood and bone

we are in 2008, its possible to realisticly shoot a virtual body into peaces, or give precise headshots.

but the current hardware couldnt run it really, think of multiplayer games which servers must handle,

and to be honest, i dont want this kind of detail ^^

the chunks of meat flying around right now are juuuust fiiiine... ^^

the soldiers of fortune gore is in my eyes really disturbing. And anyway the gore should only serve the purpose that you know, you're actually holding a rocketlauncher and not some toy gun.
And if epic would really make a gore system like that, I'd **** them for wasting the time in which they could have created more maps, mutators or generally fix bugs.

(SOF2 gore zones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGsdD...eature=related) I can't believe that anyone would take on so much work for creating something so unimportent...

It just doesn't look like a body being blown apart to me, it looks like a body disappearing and being replaced with bouncing beach ball clumps. I don't ask for something too in-depth, I don't need a perfect hole in the exact hit location that you can look through, I just think they could have come up with something that doesn't look so silly and outdated.

I did see a gibbed hand. It was one of the Krull or whatever they are called. It was cool. Could it be that Epic made a decision not to have identifiable human body parts.

Yuck, I hope I'll never have to see anything like that in UT :P

Epic is trying to make the gore look cool, not realistic, and that's exactly how I want it.

being obsessed with gore is ironically kiddish imo. the gore level of the game is fine, i admit the taunts and things could be improved, but please stop wasting their time getting them to read threads like this.. there are much, much better things they could be doing when it comes to improving the game.

Wow... I busted out laughing when I saw that. There should be a random chance for that to happen in UT3.

Personally, I think the bouncing gore chunks are funny as hell and a staple in the UT-ness of things. It may not be realistic but I laugh when it happens and its fun.

However, my best friend is a cop and we've seen quite a few things most people shouldn't. Most of the guys around here asking for super realistic gore probably haven't actually seen a guy blow his own head off with a shotgun, or a guy that fell off a roof into a helicopter rotor.

After you see that stuff, you take a little bit of a different look at gore and for me at least, beach ball chunks are way more fun.

I totally agree. I honestly thought 2k4 needed to be more bloody.

This game is certified 18, thus should have more blood and gore - and should not be pld by anyone younger :P

It does not need to be like SOFII but what I would like to see is specifics being gibbed

Say impact hammer, flak, rocket launcher and really anything that can gib to the top half = top half gets gibbed and the bottom falls to the floor.

The same would happen if you shot the bottom.

This was possible in the first Unreal.
