    It's nearly 2008...

And we're still supposed to think that that old "gibbing" effect is supposed to look good? It was ok in Quake, but haven't we come quite a ways since then? I don't get how things like reflections, motion blur and parallax-mapping etc. have come leaps and bounds, but the best "bodily destruction" effect anyone can think of is having the body suddenly disappear and be replaced by a handful of large rigid bouncing chunks.

Am I crazy to expect a little bit more than a prettier version of a decade-old concept from a "next generation" game, one whose amazing graphics are constantly touted?

You suggest making all character models have real tissue and organs and stuff to manipulate? Sounds like a hard task and little reward.

I'm still amazed at how Epic pulled off the complex ragdolls without killing servers. Even having the ability to feign death with accurately placed ragdolls is crazy.

I'm no graphics designer, I'm just suggesting they could probably find something that looks better than what they've got.

Ever seen something actually get dismembered? They don't bleed like in Kill Bill.

I love the gore effects, I think they feel very rewarding and that they fit a game like UT3 perfectly.
I wouldn't want realistic gore in UT, that would probably just make me want to throw up :P

I wouldn't expect them to, but I'm pretty sure it does make a mess.

Reise: while the heart still beats major arteries will spew blood quite some distance, but if that does happen it can't last for long, your blood pressure can't be maintained with a gushing wound.

A dead heart doesn't pump any blood, a dead person doesn't bleed much, but blood does collect in the lower portions, that's why bodies found a few days after death look like they're bruised on the side facing down.

Heh if the pieces weren't blown so far away from where the Krall was when it died, there you would see a decent puddle of blood.

I wonder if they meant to have giblets leave a patch of blood wherever they landed like in the other games. That way there would be a huge mess if someone got wasted in a hallway or some closed in area.

Yeah, more decals would have helped it. I mean, I'm playing the Ballistic Weapons mod for ut2k4, and the gore in that mod looks better than UT3.

I don't have the game yet, so I'm wondering are the gore updated from the Beta Demo? This looks much more bad *** than when you blow up the human bots.

yeah, some more blood would be nice. And I'd like blood on the walls when you shoot people with the shock. That looked so **** good in UT2k4 :>

It would be cool if they would make it more detailed. Maybe somebody should make a mutator that has better effects?
