    What happened to holding shift.

Where did the holding shift key go.
We can't hold down our shift key to stop us going over the edge anymore.
There's no more walk key. I miss this and it should be back, it's much harder to snipe now knowing you have to watch your step.....

Oh well, another disappointment to make the game harder.

I think it works. Did you make sure your crouch is bound to your shift key so then all you have to do is crouch and the walk to the edge and you won't fall off.

not that many people used walk, i guess. but maybe it also got left out because if they had it in there, it would be buggy in some way...

Yeah it's so hard to hit crouch instead.

Well, crouch and walk just doesn't give the same result. There are quite some situations where you want to 'Walk' slowly without ducking to the ground.

Walk should be re-introduced for those who want and need it.

I used walk in LMS Insta when playing "Arena" with the last player..
It was a quick change of pace and helped the other player miss shooting you while you get a more precise aim
It's another thing taken away that was a good part of UT.

Exactly. Couldn't agree more on the quick change of pace and more precise aim. Walk is really a function that's very handy. I hope it will appear in the next patch.

It's still a console game as it stands now without patches, the console controllers don't have sufficient buttons to implement the "hold shift down not to fall down edges" feature.

The funny thing with ledges is, you can actually crouch over the ledge, so actually hang in the air and you won't fall

                      Must be a collission thing

                        Hold 'C' instead.

Holding 'C' (crouch) might enable you to 'not fall from an edge' but it's not the same at all as WALK in previous UT games.

There is actually this line in UTInput.ini:

                            Bindings=(Name="Walking",Command="Button bRun")

I tried to bind it to a key, but it doesn't seem to work..

edit: oh, I just see that it is also prebound to the shift key, so I think epic may have just forgotten some codelines or something..

AFAIK Walk is faster than Crouch, and that's one reason people like it. I never relied on it, and only tried it a couple times, so I can't remember for sure what other differences there were.
