I need a co-leader with prior experience to jump-start a PS3 UT3 clan.
The successful candidate will assume co-leadership of this new clan. (recruit members, organize practice and match sessions, represent the clan)
For some background information, please keep reading.
If interested, please send me a PM with a clan name and tag of your choice.
--- The Story:
After playing online with random strangers for far too long, we could no longer accept the status quo...
We really wanted to:
- play online games the way they are meant to be played: Vegas is a tactical shooter, not Quake. Halo demands limited teamwork, but a thorough understanding of map-specific strategies. Warhawk demands excellent teamwork and good communication. Resistance requires squads and tactical assignments. UT is fast and calls for strong individual skills. Etc.
- play online games with individuals who respect each other, without prejudice.
- play online games as part of a community, with other gamers you learn to know, trust and enjoy playing with.
- play online games with other gamers at a similar level, so that we did not feel the frustration of losing time and time again against immensely superior opponents or the false pride of winning time and time again against newcomers and casual gamers. (Let's face it: Skill-based matchmaking is still a far-fetched promise.)
So, we decided to build an online gaming community: Papa Tango Papa was born.
Papa Tango Papa is "Plan To Play” spelled using the NATO phonetic alphabet.
Papa Tango Papa is now 2-months old and off to a good start.
Technically, we have the expertise to build any Web-based tool an online community could dream of.
We can set up and manage Web sites and forums.
We can make scheduling online gaming sessions as easy as it can be.
We can produce tools to organize events and social networking.
We understand Web 2.0 and the "old" Web is our backyard.
Brief, we can design and develop pretty much anything, to the exact specifications of those who share our vision.
To kick-start our community, we first decided to address the needs of clans.
In October, we launched a Warhawk clan.
In November, we added a Call of Duty 4 clan.
We developed a first set of tools based on those 2 clans.
Our clans are not necessarily super competitive. They are created and developed to provide a satisfying experience to those who populate them.
Hence, some of our clans will be competitive, hardcore clans. Others will be more casual, for gamers who spend as little as 2 hours a week playing online games.
Finally, http://PapaTangoPapa.com will grow over time, using the feedback provided by the Papa Tango Papa community.
