How to have UT3 be as tweakable/fun as UT2k4:

(1) Easier management of file locations,

(2) More options in the game, or having ini/config tweaks that actually stick.

(3) less "let me figure out what settings you need because you're stupid" toward customers/end users

(4) Ditch the sliders, and go back to the Lowest/low/high/highest, etc. drop down menu.

(5) Ditch the singleplayer Soap-Opera.

The whole Single Player 'Soap Opera" as you put it is alot better than what they had as a pathetic excuse for a SP portion, which was just a tournament, at least in this we get a storyline and stuff.

Uhm...It's unreal TOURNAMENT. The "campaign" in UT3 is ridiculous. The story is awful as well. They should have left you with the standard ladder like the previous game had. People liked it. People played it a lot. They saw "a lot of people only play single player" and decided that they should CHANGE single player as a result...instead of seeing that people LIKED it so they should keep it the same.

But we don't want a storyline, we want a Tournament, this was NOTHING like a Tournament. This was almost as linear as it gets, sometimes you get to play cards or choose which mission to do first, but ultimately, you end up doing all of the missions the same way.

I really enjoy the 2k4 tournament SP. I could have had more features ofcourse, but it was the "Tournament" part of Unreal Tournament.

I think the UT3 is more fun than UT 2k4, with more gravity (less dodgejumping) u can actually blow someone to pieces by shooting their head with a RL. Loads of fun

Yes, UT2k4 had a great singleplayer IMO, because it was more like sport/game, and not "Days of Our Lives"-like.

I like the singleplayer well enough, and the best part of it is that you can play it cooperatively.

the single player threw me a little in ut3. the fact that they say certain things effect what happens later. the only way i saw this was with the cards. it seems quite linear as far as ive looked into it. im too busy with multiplayer to be bothered with single player as the bots are not really a challange. some one will probably creat a mod or something that will have a tornament style game in there

I completely ignored UT, UT2k3 and UT2k4's SP tourneys the instant I beat them. Only time I recall going back is for the boss challege (such as the Lightning Round against Godlike Xan) for a forum challenge.
