Linux server will maybe never be out...

Thanks to Ageia's PhysX, we will never have Linux server, but instead we can play a beautiffuuuuul game .... against bots on localhost.

Don't be so quick to blame Ageia, it could very well be LameSpy too. I know Ryan had issues in the past with Linux ports of various games and delaying them just because of GameSpy's gunk, including having to come up with a totally different master server solution for one of them. AA and MOH:AA to name a couple. Ryan is no stranger to GameSpy causing trouble and this just looks like another classic example of them wanting seperate licensing money for every PC based port, Mac and Linux included.

We can say anything we want, or blame anyone, the fact is that linux server is not coming, and you know what that means ?

Money-making corporations like Microsoft or Ageia exists only to make money. That's why Microsoft servers sucks. They don't care if you can play your game on decent servers.

Now, maybe it is not Ageia nor GaySpy that is bloking linux servers, who cares, the fact is that Epic developed on closed-platforms and the result is that players will hate this game (or hate it already ) because of all server bugs. ( Why not develop on OpenGL 2.0 instead of DX10 ? )

Just look how many people play this game, it is a shame and that is mainly because of Microsoft gay servers despite of all ingame bugs. And it will be worst and worst if there is no Linux server very very soon.

Which part of "delayed" do you not understand? They even released a beta linux server around the time the UT3 beta demo for Windows was released, so what gives you the silly idea they scrapped it?

It wouldn't make any business sense at all for Ageia to hold back on the Linux port - UT3 is the only AAA title I know of that supports PhysX so fully, this is basically the game that gives the reason to get a card. To hold back on the Linux release would only damage their already shaky sales and reputation.

Yes! We can say anything we want and blame anybody we want. People often do. Frequently. Welcome to the internet! Saying that a Linux server is not coming is an assumption because, unless you have a crystal ball, you cannot tell the future.

Imagine that! A corporation trying to make money! They also make a lot of software, btw. They also employ a lot of people that are not volunteering to work for them. Saying "they don't care" is yet another assumption.

Since when is the PC a "closed platform". I'm a player and I do not hate this game. It's a bit buggy, but that's kind of expected at first. They developed it for DX10 because it is better and the future. OpenGL2.0 is not

I'm sure there will be Linux servers. I'll make my own assuption here: porting this game for Linux servers is probably not an easy job, therefore not going to be done over night. Epic is an game engine developer, not a bunch of Wizards who can blink things into existence.
