Omicron 6 = Earth? [ Possible Spoilers ]

There's three things that make me think this:

1. At the start of Chapter V, when Reaper tells Malcolm he's going to take a ship and follow Akasha through the wormhole, Malcolm jokes: "Are you going to take on the whole Earth army?"

2. Later in the same cutscene, you see the Ronins' ship approach the Necris homeworld, and I can clearly see what is the Black Sea ( East Europe ).

3. The architecture is somewhat Turkish in design, and there's pretty much no sci-fi advanced designs. So it's old buildings, taken over by the nanoblack.

What do you think? Personally, having Earth screwed up like this is something I really like in the Unreal storyline.

No, it's not Earth.
N.E.G. stands for New Earth Government. Once the conflict on Taryd was escalated by the Necris into more than corporate skirmishes between Izanagi-Liandri-Axon, the N.E.G. stepped in and put an end to hostilities.

1. They way i heard it, Reaper was saying that he wanted to continue fighting (to get akasha) but seeing how the war was already over and done and malcolm imo was saying, "what's next to fight? This entire planet (Earth?)"

The idea of the necris taking Earth sounds possible, since there is the NEG (new earth government). That could mean that the survivors left earth and the necris behind and started colonizing on a new planet and thus began the NEG.

Just something i came up with now.

This seems unlikely, as the New Earth Government is based, presumably, on Earth. Also, you travel to Earth in UT1, to take part in the Tournament, if I remember correctly (and have to fight your first battle on the ship traveling there). If Earth had been Necrified, this would be pretty major news, I'd think. EDIT: I suppose the NEG could be based on New Earth. But this doesn't seem likely.

One thing I did notice, but later forgot, now that I've started the SP campaign again, is that in the opening sequence the boy Reaper saves finds a Tournament Champion Medallion, with a "U" logo on one side, and the tournament trophy embossed on the other. Given Malcolm's ties to the tournament, the appearance of this in the Twin Souls colony just before the attack seems like foreshadowing. Good stuff, though, even if it's not relevant. But, given the final act, it seems pretty relevant to me.

I didn't know about the NEG, but I'm positive that's the Black Sea in the cinematic. Try replaying Chapter 5 and keep your eyes peeled. I wish there were more background info on the Unreal universe.

Meh, the Unreal Universe is so non-linear I doubt half of what's in these games nowadays is canon.

I definitely saw the Black and Caspian Seas on the Necris planet as well...

Earth "playing" the part of another planet. This isn't the first time it's happened. Some may know that the planet in the first Unreal (Na Pali) was represented by a blue marble texture in it's cutscenes.

It is when you count from the sun...

If the Necris did indeed come and take over Earth - you can assume it'd be from deep space (ie. from Pluto's direction)

^ Take a look at that image there - if you count backwards on the actual planets (excluding the dwarf planets such as pluto) Earth does actually come in at the 6th spot.

So if the necris came from deep space, Earth was number six, thus the christening of "Omicron 6"

It can be read numerous ways. New Earth Govt. as in its the goverment on the New Earth or the New Earth Govt. as its a new global goverment for the existing earth.

Personally I think it's the former.

Maybe Epic reads this thread and actually makes this a plot point in a coming Expansion or Bonuspack, to continue Reaper's story. I want to be in the Credits, dammit.

It could either be earth or the opposite of earth because that guy said one reaction always has an equal opposite reaction.

So its like some crazy evil place where everyone drinks blood out of nanoblack mugs.
