    Weird Shadow Shifting

    I have dynamic shadows on, and the shadow of my Leviathan keep getting longer and shorter when I move my camera. The longer shadow is always a fixed amount longer and it takes about 0.5 seconds to change smoothly. Is this to optimize my FPS? I have the minimal optimal frame rate set to 0 in my configuration file.

    I noticed this too...but it was on my character shadow (in 3rd person view)

      Is it to optimize the FPS, or is it a glitch.

        It's because of the use of lightmapping.

          You can observe this in many (if not all) Unreal Engine 3 games. I guess they don't give you completely "correct" shadows all the time, but tweak them around depending on where you have the camera in order to optimize the smoothing for the angle you're viewing it at.
