(¯°·«èXó»·°¯) repliedYou dont need to download or install gamespy but when you launch the game you will be required to create a new profile (in game) which is actually created and saved out at gamespy.

KriLL3.8™ repliedNice that it's encrypted, and that it asks for it if there isn't one, since in UT(2) you could restore the registry entries on a new windows install and have the game work fine, now you still can and then enter your key. :>
Oh and yes in the olden days it was dead easy for someone to steal your key, since it was un-encrypted in the registry.

Warboss repliedengine.ini
look for "EncryptedProductKey=" and delete the numbers after it.
next time you launch the game it will ask you for a new cd key.

Shvartza started a topic What part of the ini is the cd-key in?What part of the ini is the cd-key in?
My friend had his copy of the game installed on my PC. I uninstalled it and re-installed my copy but it never prompted me to use a new CD-key. So the CD-key is stored somewhere in the ini. I already edited my .ini heavily and don't want to go back and have to do it all over again.
So which part of the config folder has the cd-key in it ? I'll just delete that instead.Tags: None
