I'm starting to appreciate the deployables less each passing day. They'd be great if you could just get rid of them somehow, like shooting them.

should drop those mines @ enemy nodes pretty fun they got more then 1 charge btw.
as far the mine it self that spawns all the spiders is't destroyable.
    but does expire after while

    Turn up your brightness

I know, turning up brightness doesn't make the game look as good, would be cool if they were more easily spotted.

The trap itself is very hard to spot, and spiders are faster and much more tenacious (they've followed me across most of large VCTF maps before). The inability to destroy the next is ridiculous, especially coupled with the Nightshade's ability to keep two separate nests active at any given moment.

You know, I loved the spidermine gun in UT2004. As fun as it was to kill people with it, I believe the new system is better. Now there's just a few mines, and I don't have to worry about an entire team of people tossing mines everywhere - that just gets old.

No one's commented on it yet, so I will: Dying via spider mine is really funny in UT3! Having the spider latch onto your face and I guess choking you to death is hilarious. I would love to see what it looks like in third person.

It sucks that they are a trap to start with, they should have kept them as a gun. I also miss the grenade launcher, it was fun to use sometimes.

you can still destroy the spiders themselves i asume ?

If I notice them... I just run backwards whilst dodging from side to side when they get close and try to kill them. I think they explode on your own if they dont catch you after a short while.

Oh god spider mines. They follow you everywhere ^^

The first time i was pursued by a bunch of spiders, i just hoverboarded out of range (i thought so ;D). A second later i had a Drill in my face ^^

They come out at about one per second as long as someone is near, but the trap still lasted long enough for me to waste 20 or so rockets on it. The spiders themselves blow up quite easily, but they're small dark and fast, which makes it hard to see if you've dealt with them all.

So I guess they really wouldn't make a node invincible that long.

Well the spiders aren't, their "nest" is for some reason, put it at a node and it's yours to keep for the duration of the nest, and the nightshade can put down 2, and can put them back again when they expire, aka a nightshade can make a node invulnerable to people on foot.
