    Annoying UT3 Crash

Well, when the demo was released, i downloaded, played, and BOOM! it crashed, it would then procede to crash around every 5-10 minutes.... But I thought "hey, its a demo, it happens.." so I waited for the release of the game, I installed it played it, and within 5 minutes of entering a game, sure enough, BOOM! it crashed...

So... HELP! I cant even play because it crashes every 5 or so minutes :/

its NOT a heat problem (kept an eye on the temps)
    I havent over clocked anything...

This is a FRESH (2 weeks?) install Windows XP Pro SP2 (Fully up to date)
    AMD Athlon X2 4200+
    3GB Corsair XMSPro DDR
    ATI Radeon HD2900 (Catalyst 7.11)
SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty (Latest drivers from site)
Razer Diamond Back Mouse (Latest drivers from site)
Ideazon Z-Board (Latest drivers from site)

    any ideas???
Epic, do you need any logs? system info reports, DXDiag logs or anything? let me know and i'll forward-on...

have you installed the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer
    http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/..._13118,00.html

from what i understand it synchronizes the timing of the two cpu's, that could result in crashing previously.

Well, have you tried disabling hardware OpenAL support in-game or simply disabling your soundcard in the device manager? I wouldn't be surprised if that were the cause of your crashes...

Try uninstalling the sound card drivers and reinstalling them. If this fails:

            Things to install / reinstall:

            Service Pack 2
            Latest Windows Updates
            .Net Framework 2

Graphics Card Drivers (http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html or http://www.nvidia.com/Download/betad...spx?lang=en-us)
Sound Card Drivers (Motherboard drivers usually include if it's onboard sound. If you have an X-Fi, try reinstalling your current sound card drivers)
AMD Dual-Core CPU Optimizer (ONLY if you have an AMD Dual-core CPU: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=81429)

have done all those prior to this, plus dont forget this is a relatively fresh install of windows also (around 2 weeks)

and nothing else has a problem...

Disabling hardware OpenAL made no difference
