i can't install UT3 on my current PC because it is below minimum requirements and i will be buying a new PC soon. Even though i haven't actually played UT3 yet, by looking at the video .. this is my favorite vehicle so far.

I spent a while experimenting with it because it seemed like such an interesting vehicle. The mobility of that thing is fantastic; you can dodge around and over buildings so easily it's more like flying than walking, and it is captivating to watch.

The weapon is rather ineffective against vehicles, and it's hard to target infantry with, but rolling over people is fun.

I use it as a stalker type vehicle.
Climbing on rooftops, cliff sides above the enemy. When I feel there most vulnerable I pounce smashing there bones with metallic claws.

Same here. I have no idea how to use this thing properly, but it's quite interesting to be smashed by someone who already knows how to handle it. ;p

And the laser thingy heals friendly nodes pretty fast.

@Killerus: They're too busy complaining about the manta.

i hated it at first but the more you use the more fun it gets. It's especially fun to roll the ball and spin the blades chopping people to bits. I am surprised the nerf police have not complained about how easy it is to roll around and crush people with it

Yes, which can be a pain.

Fairly close? I've seen the ball go off to hit stuff at the other side of the map.

But do you have to keep the crosshair on the target and the button pressed down?

You control the fireball with the laser, aim at your target and hold down fire to get the laser targeted. Have to be fairly close also.

How do you actually use that Scavenger? I just get immediately killed when I try to pilot that. What does the laser do and how do I control that flying fireball?

It's so much awesome in WAR games, not so much in v-CTF.

i can hold down a node so well with a scavenger that its redonkulous. I do wish though that they would fix its ability to anchor itself onto walls though.

    The Scavenger

I love this thing to death, it's like a laser pinball with legs. AND it jumps. It's turning into my favorite vehicle, cutting down enemies in spinny-death mode then jumping into the air to dodge fire, then launching again in laser pinball mode to slam into an enemy vehicle... SO fun! The lock-on energy ball thing is pretty nifty too, for when you want to lay down even more hate on an enemy vehicle.

It's just so agile and dangerous people don't expect it.
Working...
