You know a server fails when...

It's high time to make fun of noobs, people who don't read manuals and people who didn't play the campaign mode and have no clue as to what happens in any of the maps.

You know that a server is made of fail and n00bs when:

    - someone asks how to use the hoverboard

    - someone asks "what are those orb things?"

    - if you want the orb to ever be used, you pretty much have to do it yourself because no one else ever does

    - you bring the orb to the center node to take it asap in maps where there is no orb locker at primary, and you then have to demand that someone, anyone get the ****ing primary node up

    - everyone in your team seems to be content with letting the opposing team control the countdown node. Those nodes are completly useless, aren't they?

    - someone on the losing team in power surge or floodgate says "I don't get it we were controlling most of the nodes"

    - people always drive the nemesis around slowly without retracting the gun even when there's no one around to kill

    - someone asks "how do you repair vehicles?"

    - no one ever use the nightshade

    - some guy who's almost dead picks up the orb

    - you can chain 10 monster kills in a row with the tank at the enemy base before anyone figures out the existence of alternate base exits and kill you
    - no one ever build the tank nodes in torlan. I mean, the goliath is just weak as hell and any manta can destroy it just by looking at it funny, right?

    - someone asks "what's that tentacle thing" in avalanche

    - the enemy is controlling all the nodes and pwning your core in avalanche. The shaped charge is nowhere to be found, meaning that someone picked it up, but no avalanche ever happens and you lose.

    - someone takes the orb to the enemy core.

    - you are looking at the sky, busy minigunning a raptor and you hear a manta driving and shooting around. You look down once you're done with the raptor and see an almost destroyed enemy manta in your face trying to shoot you and you insta kill it with the link gun (ok that one's very specific but that manta guy really failed hard)

    - you're on a 32 players warfare server and people vote for sinkhole

Feel free to expand the list or point out that anything I said above imply that I'm a complete idiot for not understanding some tactic or another properly.

When the flag runner in Necropolis runs it back on foot THE WHOLE WAY.

Your Team mates push the "button" (ala Pressure) on Carbonfire and you're hopping down to get the Juggernaut, and then exclaim "What's that alarm all about?!?"

You know a server fails when:

      - No matter how well you do, your team still loses 0-5

      - Players grab items like Superhealth, Jumpboots, or Armor and jump into a vehicle, only to die shortly after.

      - Snipers refuse to move regardless of how obvious their position is.

      - The enemy flag carrier backtracks into your base to avoid you.

      - Players grab your flag when they have almost no health.

      - Players grab the enemy flag when they have almost no health.

      - The enemy flag is dropped mid-field, and your allies are too busy pwnzoring things with the DarkWalker to get out and grab it.

      - Players drive the Goliath over the bridge in Suspense.

      - You get the flag while two friendly vehicles are near you so you prepare to grapple onto them, but quickly realize they either died or left you to fend for yourself.

      - A player on the enemy team is using a rather obvious aimbot, who kills you in one hit with the Nemesis instantly as his turret does a 180 because you were 200yds away behind him and totally out of sight.

You know a player fails when:

        - He doesn't try to make it a fun place to be for all.

        - He doesn't help newcomers to the game

          you forgot this old classic:

          - a player tries to heal the core with his linkgun

i don't get this. i do this quite frequently and i'm making sure no enemy is able to get their goliath or raptor and i'm pwning everyone who tries to get out of their base to kill our flag carrier.

If doing that is wrong, then I don't want to be right.
Actually I do get coaxed easily into explaining things if you keep asking after the first grumpy "RTFM" or "complete the campaign nubz".

Seriously, some people may not have a suitable localized UT3 to play, them may not able to read the manual. Give your helpful hands to them, that's a real unreal game.

                  This thread fails because Lulzy:

-Has an apparent a superiority complex

-Has to boost his fragile ego over the anonymous internet and make fun of beginners

                  -Appears grossly immature

                  -All of the above

                    well... I do that

I have had team m8s stop and I have grappled and away we go... then I realise we are going back to enemy base...sigh

or I grapple and off we go to our base, only the first enemy my team m8 sees they go off draggin me behind to kill... gold fish spring to mind

so I trot on foot...well hover when its ok to do so

but on the theme of the thread...

vctf/ctf and the enemy are all dm'ing so one flag is usually enough, the manta flyer who when no one is in enemy base, goes looking for someone to run over instead of picking up flag... funny as hell... gota get frags... that wins games... never mind the need to cap the flag to win

Try to help beginners instead of making fools of them...........

When i started to play UT back in 99, people also helped me alot etcetc, thats why the UT community is so great, dont you just love it?

Oh and btw, i dont read manuals and i dont play campains, i play UT online thats what its made for.

                        kthxbye

You could have summed that up by "lulzy is a troll", which I will readily admit to be. Still, unlike some people, I didn't attack anyone personally and you fail for realizing that making fun of people is all in good fun as long as it doesn't becomes personal.

I do agree that dude is being immature, but there are some things I do agree with him on. these following three points dont necesarily meant he/she person is a noob, probably just lazy.

                            - someone asks how to use the hoverboard

                            - someone asks "what are those orb things?"

                            - someone asks "how do you repair vehicles?"

these top three represent the laziest players i've ever met. meaning, they did not TAKE the time to learn even the SMALLEST basics of the game. This I cannot forgive. the rest is debatable, as we cant learn EVERYTHING on a game that came out what, less than a month ago? (heck, i just started playing it yesterday! )

                            - someone takes the orb to the enemy core.
*now, whoever does this, deserves a SEVERE BEATING with the impact hammer. REPEATEDLY!!

I guess the gravity and seriousness of the subject of video games on internet forums eluded me for a short while. My apologies.

That's kind of the whole point of the thread, really. I don't care explaining things once or twice; but repeatedly it becomes annoying. I generally dislike having to explain things to people when all the required information is readily available.

I did see someone do it. I asked him if he hoped to cap the core but he offered no explanation.
