    These are the winnners.

    Closing.

the countdown nodes are not useless, often they cause damage to the core without actually having to directly attack it.

Oh god yes. Either no one goes to it or everyone goes to it, leaving the other nodes exposed.

I also get annoyed with count down nodes when you're the only one on your team defending it but a lot more on the other team are attacking it. Yet the other nodes aren't taken by your team.

What this will accomplish is more players knowing what to do and will also keep those new players in the game. If every server they goto and ask a question and they have an idiot like the OP respond with "STFU Noob!" how long do you think they will stay online? Grow the community a player at a time instead of chastising someone because they don't have your "level" of knowledge about the game.
I agree, we shouldnt automaticaly demonize them, but still, reading on the comment with the core. I mean, COME ON. even if it's the first time one plays this game, the FOURTH MISSION in the campain is with a core. it explains ALL THE BASICS you need to win. I dont automaticaly insult these people, I just boot them if I can, in ANY game I play. There is a certain level of play that is expected once you click on that "multiplayer button". you dont have to be GOOD at the game you just HAVE to know the rules!

On a side note, you're playing basketball at a park on a saturday afternoon. It's a friendly competion, with bragging rights for the neighbourhood on the line, there is no money or prize at stake, just your honor and pride. Two guys show up and ask to join you guys. you ask them i they know how to play, they say yes. you let em in. game starts. you pass the ball to guy 1. he catches it. runs(not dribbles) RUNS with the ball to the basket, sinks it in and yells, ONE - ZERO!

what do YOU DO? or SAY?

I guess the gravity and seriousness of the subject of video games on internet forums eluded me for a short while. My apologies.

these top three represent the laziest players i've ever met. meaning, they did not TAKE the time to learn even the SMALLEST basics of the game. This I cannot forgive. the rest is debatable, as we cant learn EVERYTHING on a game that came out what, less than a month ago? (heck, i just started playing it yesterday! )
That's kind of the whole point of the thread, really. I don't care explaining things once or twice; but repeatedly it becomes annoying. I generally dislike having to explain things to people when all the required information is readily available.

    - someone takes the orb to the enemy core.
*now, whoever does this, deserves a SEVERE BEATING with the impact hammer. REPEATEDLY!!
I did see someone do it. I asked him if he hoped to cap the core but he offered no explanation.

I do agree that dude is being immature, but there are some things I do agree with him on. these following three points dont necesarily meant he/she person is a noob, probably just lazy.

    - someone asks how to use the hoverboard

    - someone asks "what are those orb things?"

    - someone asks "how do you repair vehicles?"

You could have summed that up by "lulzy is a troll", which I will readily admit to be. Still, unlike some people, I didn't attack anyone personally and you fail for realizing that making fun of people is all in good fun as long as it doesn't becomes personal.

You are a n00b by even starting a topic like this omg

Try to help beginners instead of making fools of them...........

When i started to play UT back in 99, people also helped me alot etcetc, thats why the UT community is so great, dont you just love it?

Oh and btw, i dont read manuals and i dont play campains, i play UT online thats what its made for.

    kthxbye

    well... I do that

I have had team m8s stop and I have grappled and away we go... then I realise we are going back to enemy base...sigh

or I grapple and off we go to our base, only the first enemy my team m8 sees they go off draggin me behind to kill... gold fish spring to mind

so I trot on foot...well hover when its ok to do so

but on the theme of the thread...

vctf/ctf and the enemy are all dm'ing so one flag is usually enough, the manta flyer who when no one is in enemy base, goes looking for someone to run over instead of picking up flag... funny as hell... gota get frags... that wins games... never mind the need to cap the flag to win

If doing that is wrong, then I don't want to be right.
Actually I do get coaxed easily into explaining things if you keep asking after the first grumpy "RTFM" or "complete the campaign nubz".

i don't get this. i do this quite frequently and i'm making sure no enemy is able to get their goliath or raptor and i'm pwning everyone who tries to get out of their base to kill our flag carrier.
