The sky on Torlan = *AAAHHH MY EYES*

Why is it that the sky in Torlan isn't a sky...but a massive white blur. What happened to the amazing UE skyboxes of yesteryear? Anything high in the sky, be it weapons or vehicles isn't visible. Just load up torlan, fire a secondary shock into the air and watch how fast it just disappears into the post processing glow.

    Grrrr.

    Turn bloom off in UTEngine.ini.

DOF off will give some more detail and colour aswell.

Well, i like bloom to a degree. Is there a way to turn it DOWN instead of OFF?

The bloom is one of the things that make the game so pretty. It's a shame so many people turn it off just to get an advantage while playing.

It's not about advantage, it's about not making everything so fuzzy.
Making it more crisp and vivid (without being overly contrast).

Indeed, it is unfortunate that bloom in UT3 (and most games that have bloom) is many times stronger than real life, making everything look like it's being illuminated with 500MW of floodlights. Turning it off completely makes things look flat, but it's better than looking washed out and blurry.

I just think they overdid it quite a bit. It needs to be backed off a ways. The fact that the entire Torlan sky is just one solid bloom is sickening to me. UT99 had GORGEOUS skys. They used to refer to UT99 and Unreal as having those "Signature Unreal Skies." They weren't near as good in UT2k4 and they just plain stink in UT3. :-P

Turn down your post-processing level. Use it at muted and skies are pretty glow-free. If you use intense, every sky will kill your eyes.

I use vivid. The colors look totally flat on every other setting.

                  There's just no middle ground.

The thing about Torlan is that the sky is JUST bloom. No sky at all, just a massive white bloom.

I think the skies are ok with Vivid. A bit too bright, but ok. However that default/muted post processing seems to have really washed out colors, so I keep using vivid.
