Moral Dilema

I ordered (pre-ordered) UTIII CE from Play - Today the package arrived - it was the ordinary edition. I called Play, they apologised and arranged to send the correct order, also giving me instructions to send back my standard copy. This, of course, means ANOTHER 3-5 days wait - I have the game right infront of me, and I ain't gonna send it til mine arrives ....

But should I install it? Yes/No.Poll.

no, if they resell the game, the person who gets it will have an unusable cdkey

Well not entirely aslong as the same CD key isnt online at the same time it wouldnt get banned.

BUT the problem is if you open it Play may not accept it, i assume it has a plastic rapper on it, if you break that they may feel they have to charge you for it. It sucks i know, personally its their fault you have to wait, when my Vanguard CE was delayed i believe the publisher asked to get standards sent out as an appoligy for the delay (too bad the standard arrived the same day as the CE because play were so slow to send it out). As much as it is frustrating you dont want to end up paying for 2. I wonder though, if you dont send it back, would they do anything? i mean its their own fault they made the mistake.

Well, let's face it - I'm an adult (contrary to any evidence) and though I love UT (I'm an original) and really want to play the full version - I have a life, and it's not like I'm itching to rip off that sellophane, well ... I am ... but you know.

I don't plan on sending it back UNTIL I receive my copy (just got an email from Play saying it's been posted). My common sense says "Hey, **** 'em, they screwed it and me, try them apples", but they can't resell unpacked goods, cd key or not ... so I'm not being my usual antiestablishment self

Gah, it's your life ffs! I'd install - who cares! If they resell the game you can just stop using that original CD-key. If there will be other problems, those are their problems, not yours.

But, hey, I'm a bit stuck on this one - I already stated what MY common sense says ...

well, they've done this to a few people from what ive heard, and tbh i very much doubt they would chase you up for it, but then if i were you and you didnt send them it back i wouldnt shop with them again LOL. but then im not shopping with them again after the problem i had getting Hellgate, if your order doesnt turn up you must wait 21 days before they will replace or refund the order. so id hold onto that standard untill the CE is in your hands, its up to you if you want to open up and play the game and not send it back, i really dont think they could charge you as it was a mistake they made. But im no expert on these things so dont take my word for it that they wont get angry lol. i just dont think they would bother but id hate for you to keep it and they charge your card.... although i dont think they could really do that.

wait, you can't have two ppl online at the same time with the same cd key? what about at different times?

anyway, i would say just wait, if you've been waiting for months, or however long you've been waiting, what's another couple days or weeks?
