I fixed my connection lost issue!

like many of you i kept getting the connection lost error after loading a level when joining a server.

i port forwarded udp 7777 in my router which did nothing at all. but i dont even have any firewalls or virus stuff going on while i was trying to get it working.

then i went into the windows firewall even though it was disabled and allowed udp 7777 in there and guess what, all of a sudden it all works flawlessly. so hopeully some you get it going like this as well.

port forwarding for router didnt do anything for me. allowing udp 7777 in windows firewall worked! even though it was disabled, it still interferes.

Open your Windows Firewall in Control Panel

Go to Exceptions, click Add Port

Give it a name you like, enter 7777 for port and select UDP.
      All done.

that is a different error X-CImo. i used to have that error as well. i had to change my timeout settings in my router to get rid of that message. in the port forwarding section of your router there should be something about tcp timeout settings or something similar. mine was at 120 originally, i changed it to 300 & now i stay connected every round.

          hope this helps!

mine didnt either. i got a billion router. i did a few google searches & found out mine was in a hidden page that you had to type in manually & i changed it there. hopefully there might be something similar for linksys

edit: there is DD-WRT custom drivers which enable you to change timeout settings for your router. can try this link: http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato/ there are several links at the bottom of the page as well
