    Ut3 = ?

There's a lot of cool stuff in UT3, and things that are just plain smooth. For instance, weap[ons fire and physics are much better. Flying vehicles and their physics are fantastic. but on the other hand, i have some serious questions---

    >player options, interface options, crosshair options, movement options, server view options, etc., etc, etc??? where did it all go? i mean, like poof and 70% of the great stuff from earlier ut and ut2004 is GONE. somehow i feel like it's become a one-size-fits-all EPIC-KNOWS-WHAT'S-BEST-FOR-YOU game + we're supposed to bow down ~~because of massive marketing and things like changing helmets~~ that it's an advanced & customizable game. fact is: isn't even beta test level player customization; plus all the server views and server spectating options have been eliminated?
    >if you strip away all the~~some cool, some bad, but mostly mostly retread~~ heavy metal design and detail, the new vehicles, all the textures, UT3 ends up being a tiny advance over earlier UT games, if that. there's visually way too much going on. the gameplay is buried under a heap of unnecc megacrap and layers of bad UI. in Warfare, for instance, the HUD has become completely incomprehensible>> like oh, this node is a tiny rounded red square and so its locked, and this node is a tiny round red dot, and so it's not???>>> + u get bombarded by blinking signs, arrows pointing, paths glowing, voices booming 'Attack this, attack that', glowing enemy vehicles~~~ it's like Simon Sez. Player basically is a drone that's following directions and has no options.

    Honestly, i now realize i didn't appreciate ut2004 enuff.

Forums are also called into existance too let people tell whats bothering them bout the game they bought. If NO ONE would ever tell anything bad about a game, although they have some issues, games wouldnt change

You have the right to tell me to shut up... but I guess that means the good stuff I said about it too? If the only purpose of the Forum is for posting 100% positive comments, cheerleading and patting each other on the back, then you're happy to just be a bot. No one and nothing gets better from mindless grinning and nodding and saying everything's great and always will be and anyone who has anything else to say should be shut out. that's exactly how great games become bad games... no one listens.

^ I totally agree with you OP.. The game seems like all of the tiny yet very important features that a player can set are totally gone.
Overall, the UI feels completely unfinished..

Yes they will probably be releasing patches to repair certain aspects of the game, but I feel like they already postponed the release, and even STILL they released a game that is just unfinished. Anyone who has played this series very serilously has to agree..

if that stuff is there its there.. it is totally NOT THERE in this game

You obviously didn't download the patch as you're able to spectate now.. Well without the first patch you couldn't even see everyone's ping and playtime and some other things, so I imagine them to add these things later on.
like oh, this node is a tiny rounded red square and so its locked, and this node is a tiny round red dot, and so it's not???>>>
I agree that it's not very clear wheter the nodes are locked or not as I have been shooting locked nodes several times in UT3. :S In UT2004 it was so obviouse that you almost had to be retarded or speaking chinese to not understand it's locked.. Well now I actually know that in UT3 you also get a message when you're shooting locked nodes, but I can't remember that I heard a deny sound, that made it in UT2004 very obviouse.

Btw...the portals are briliant in UT3, though when you press the "e" button it's like you're out of the game.. You can't hear what's going on and I really hope that this will be changed.. It could be a small detail, but it's pretty annoying..:/

We don't need these type of comments on our forums, this is totally irresponsible.
Please read the forums rules again.
Those type of comments are not welcome(-.-)

We've heard all this to make us all puke...
There were a time for whining and giving Epic feedback when the Beta Demo just was out. But know it's getting really old.
Epic knows what everyone thinks and I'm pretty sure they allready have a plan for what features and in which order things will be implemented.

I agree with Solar Plexus, there are wayyy tooo many lights, signs, flashy stuff for no reason what so ever. Just compare CTF Coret now and u'll see what I mean.

I don't mind people complaining about the game, but the people at Epic spent a lot of time and resources making this game, and I think it's unfair to treat them as if they don't care. The game is not perfect. No Unreal game ever has been. But they've all been fixed over time with patches, and had more content added over time.

I think this the OP should have just aired his greivance in an already-established thread, instead of clogging up the forums with a separate post that's identical to those given by others.

^ actually, I found that ut99 was as close to a perfect fps as you can get. It was balanced, the maps were perfect in size, to fit large or small amounts of players.. it wasn't overly flashy in terms of effects and map design, the weapons were balanced, the game had every possible option available to be configured.. crosshairs etc..

This game lacks tons of previous features from prior generations. You can't deny that!
If this doesn't bother you, then great It DOES bother lots of other players.. so if you don't appreciate or can't handle them speaking detrimentally about the game.. DON"T READ OR COMMENT ON THEIR POSTS! Simple as that.

This is a FORUM.. all manner of comments are to be shared here, so long as they are kept civil!

UT was highly polished because it started out as a bonus pack for Unreal, and turned into a full fledged game. There was even some additional wait time since there was some in-house things going on at Epic and GT Interactive, at the time.

UT2k3 is the prototypical black sheep of the Unreal series. It was highly unpolished, and more than just buggy or whatever UI issues, but a lot of the maps weren't even designed for the movement system, and the content was lacking. It took UT2k4 to bring the UT2 series into it's own, and that was after a year of patches and updates.

UT and UT2k4 were highly polished because they were built off of Unreal and UT2k3, and refined things pioneered in each predecessor, and even so, more bonus packs and patches came out for them. UT3 will simply need a little time to have the same level of polish. But it will get there.
