Crash at Splash Screen because of Audio Driver.

Hello.
my system:
Asus p5k Delux
q6600
8800 ultra
2 gig ram
vista 32x
all the lates drivers and updates
except i use microsoft audio drivers because the p5k audi drivers are ****, when i install those drivers (audioMAX blackhawck), i have no sound (apparently drivers do not detect that my speakers are pluged in)

So i just bought the game and i cant get past the splash screen.
I figured it was the sound drivers, so when i install the lates p5k drivers i can get in to the game.. but no sound.
Although when i install the drivers and dont restart my computers i still have sound and i can get into UT3... but i cant restart my computer cause ill loose sound then.
So i figure theres a file that UT3 needs in my audioMAX sound driver package to run...
So if anyone has any ideas please help me

Disable OpenAL and see if that helps.

just check in the control panel,click "sound" and see if the wrong option is checked with the p5k drivers. Vista has done this to me with both my onboard audio as well as x-fi card
