Unreal Editor with UT3 PS3?

I love Unreal and I love playing in the editor, but it'll be a while before i upgrade my pc to enjoy UT3, so I'm thinking about buying the PS3 version. I was curious though if the PS3 version would come with the editor as well, since you can play mods and stuff. I know there's the whole thing about the Blu-Ray disc, but maybe they can give you a 2nd disc with the edtior on it. even in a collectors edition or something.

Just curious. I'd like to see this option.

sucks. i'd hate to have to buy the game twice just for the editor. i hope they change their minds and release the editor with the PS3 version as well.

The editor implies that you have access to all the textures, meshes, models, music, sounds, and other stuff that came with UT3. Just having the editor won't do you any good unless you want to create EVERYTHING from scratch. You've gotta have all the game resources to go with it...which basically would mean you've got the whole game. It'd make sense to ship the editor and all the resources on the bluray disc for those people who happen to have a BR drive.

That is to bad, leaves a lot of untapped creativity, and the more creative people we develop (with the editor) will always be good for the gaming community.

It's all about cost.

They use windows to make the game. They're giving windows users the editor they use.

Porting a Mac, or PS3, or Linux version of the editor is going to cost them time and money, and not really gain them much. And that's assuming they could even feasibly make a PS3 version.

Sure, you can argue either way, but I suspect they've crunched the numbers they think are realistic and have decided.

i don't necessarily want it on the PS3,just available with the PS3 version. I can still use my PC to use the editor. I just want to be able to obtain the editor without having to buy the PS3 and PC versions together.

To create any type of map now a days you need a multitude of programs outside of Unreal Ed. Programs like Maya, 3Ds Max, and Photoshop are programs you will probably never see on a PS3.

Plus it would also surprise me to see PS3 getting Unreal Ed before Mac does!

im not saying a ps3 version of unreal ed, thats simply unnessicary, i mean let us have ued by download to our pcs! tho Hickeroar has a point, we'd need all the files from the game. I guess i might just hav to get the game (or grab it from a friend, as i would only be usin it for mod making)

if they will make a linux binary for UnrealEd
you can run the editor on PS3 since you can install a linux distro on ps3 hdd

actually it is still illegal...
it doesnt matter if you mainly play the ps3 version... if you also want it on the pc you will have to buy the pc version also

that sucks. now i'm torn between which to buy. buy the PS3 version now? or the PC version when i FINALLY upgrade my pc.. but who knows when i can do that.
