1v1 inherently favors shock because of it's versatility.
Of the top 10 players in global stats for pubs, the stinger is in the top 3.
It requires the user to simply hold the trigger down and trace an opponent. It's easy to use.
Numerically by dps and raw damage, it does way more damage than it's predecessors.
There are enough avrils in warslaught (can't really speak for vCTF). Use the teleporters, and/or spawn at base nodes. Stop spawning at default front lines. You can port to those after you get an avril, at the cost of only a few seconds.
It will only get worse as people start turning better frames. Player competitive players with top of the line systems will teach you that.
If you're on the hover board, a good player will knock you down with the stinger, and finish you with the free sniper shot. A damage decrease though, won't change that, because you are rendered immobile. That can only be fixed by putting less stingers in weapon lockers.
