What driver version do you use? I saw Guru3D had some new Vista drivers -- could give them a try.

Long load times could be caused by a heavily fragged harddrive or a virusscanner. Also check what other programs are running (check Task Manager). Make sure you have enough airflow around the video card. Sometimes (too) high temperatures can cause freezes and screen corruptions.

dint try to push max settings, if you where able to run the demo smooth put the full on 4 instead of 5
the demo was 4 max
the retail is 5

you need way more to do 5

Actually, the demo was 3 max. I had the 8600 GT and it barely pulled max demo settings. Now I have an 8800GT though.
