    UT3 and Crossfire ?

    Hi all....

I tried running my ATI HD3870's in Crossfire mode with UT3 and the fps dropped with crossfire enabled.

Anyone else running a Crossfire rig? Post your results here.
Any news regarding availability of Crossfire on Vista ?
Will there be official Crossfire support from Epic ?

*All above questions asked with a grimace and fingers crossed....

Crossfire works great in UT3... on the machines i've set it up..

make sure you have the latest 7.11 catalyst installed... as well as making sure in the crossfire tab, that crossfire is enabled... and additionally, go into the 3d settings tab for catalyst AI and set it to ADVANCED

Crossfire and vista = match made in heaven.... i find crossfire has a habit of not working at all well under xp.. and consitantly gives problems....

OK....I flashed the bios on the hd3870's to fix the timer . allowing o/c's past 862 MHz...WEE !! ( the bios flash actually fixed the overdrive app crashing before completing the overdrive evaluation!)
      Installed the Catalyst 7.11 package......
New Bios flash for my Asus Maximus Formula ( x38 chipset, 16x16 pcie 2.0)
Hell...I even installed the UT3 patch beta.....

Lets see if we can get anything to respond well to crossfire !!!
So far turning on A.I. crashed most benchmarks and ut3 ( at least at standard settings)
      I will report back shortly.....

OK... the results are as follows :

Smooth FPS: disabled in the new patched console
      Resolution: 1680 x 1050
      World Detail:4
      Texture Detail:4
      Post processing : default

Crossfire disabled no AI : 133.28 FPS
Crossfire disabled standard AI : 141.61 FPS
Crossfire disabled advanced AI : 133.78 FPS

Crossfire enabled no AI : 131.86 FPS
Crossfire enabled standard AI : 260.35 FPS
Crossfire enabled advanced AI : 246.73 FPS

OK....crossfire is now adding extra fps...alot i might add.
One massive problem though....1 card runs the game smoother by far. The stuttering kicks in heavily with both cards teaming up.
Looks good for benchmarks...but hardly playable.
Any solutions for getting rid of the stutter in crossfire mode ?

Honestly havent tried yet as the stutter prevents me from going further. Stay tuned as I will be testing that later today.
