I installed 7.11 for my HD 3870 on a WinXP AMD PC with NVIDIA chipset. Works for me.

Thanks exile. I have no problems, and now my OC tool works better allowing me to get 5-10 fps more in ut3. More if I OC more on my x1950gt 512meg GPU.

If u run into problems simply uninstall and rollback to your previous driver

Should only be concerned about new hardware compatabity, software is easly fixable

        ROFL
Well, smart@ss, when I installed UT2004 a few years ago on my system at the time, I had a 9600XT. I went through five driver builds before ATI finally had one that would allow me to UT2004 without crashing back to the desktop. No other games did that, only UT2004. After installing each driver build and experiencing no success, I could revert back to the driver on the OEM disk and everything ran just fine. I had to run on older drivers for the better part of a year.

Not all driver related issues crop up right away after a build is released.

LOL how am i being a smart ***? that ROFL wasnt to u.

          And i am rite!!!
Why wait for other's with compatibility issues, when they probably dont have the same PC set up as you do. So just because they are having issues dont mean u will also.
That's commonsense from a technical stand point.

Also you dont know these people and thier pc skills> Ive delt with plenty of ignorant know it all gamers IM NOT REFERING TO ANYONE IN THIS FORUM who ive built pc's for and they couldnt get a game to run and it was my fault i built them a computer that wasnt compatible..
And id take a look at it, sure enough they f**ked up there drivers bad...so i had to uninstall them and manually remove allllllllllllllllllllllll there system32 lets say ati i had to go remove all the ati drivers files from the sys32 and sys32/driver folder and clean all the ati regestry entries left over.. and reinstalled the ones that caused there game to crash in the first place.
          Guess what it was fixed.

Just saying you cant always go by what others say.

Simply put, I would rather check around for others who have similar setups and use similar games, programs and OS to see if they have issues. It is a matter of convenience for me. If my system is running smoothly and not crashing, I normally wait on drivers. I prefer stability over small performance gains, since my systems are usually tweaked pretty well in the first place.

And I don't give a **** if you think you are "rite" or not, because it is a personal preference on both our parts, nothing more and nothing less. I only posted my first post to put an alternate view on the driver update issue.
