They work fine for me with UT3, using a 2900Pro.

Notice how in the full release notes that it says if you are playing crysis, you should stick with the 7.11 beta "hotfix" drivers. Why would an older beta of 7.11 be officially suggested by ATI to use in crysis over the newer and official whql 7.11??

Note to all: I make it a habit to never install brand-spanking newly released ATI drivers. I really do like ATI cards (I am using an X800 XL) but I always wait to see how well their drivers work in the wild before I install. In other words, I let everyone else be the guinea pigs.

They run fine, not everyone has the same PC setup as you, so why would you wait for others?
If u run into problems simply uninstall and rollback to your previous driver


Should only be concerned about new hardware compatabity, software is easly fixable

Using HD2900XT's and the latest drivers. My question is where is the console? ~ doesn't work. And I say booooo to the options menu. If I wanted to play a game on my xbox360 I would.

FYI it's always best to stay one driver iteration behind, regardless of video card brand. Only exceptions would be if a new driver fixes a known issue with a current driver.

im still using version 6.2 omega edition, anything avobe that causes my card to crash on any Direct3d games, OpenGL doesnt have this problem

Thats generally a bad idea especially with ATI drivers, because in their last two releases (7.10 and 7.11), there have been noticeable performance improvements across the board and tons of necessary fixes in new and old games alike.

Thats really bad, the 6.2 cats are so old it's not funny. I would totally uninstall your current version and then use a driver cleaning program to get them out for good, then update to 7.11 and see if they work. If not, it's time for a format

Yea for the paranoid.
This and the 7.11 "crysis hotfix" beta say nothing about any preformance increase in COD4 when in fact i got a good boost in FPS and was able to put all textures to very high @1680x1050 when before i had to set to medium. Not to mention it fixed my lag issue with Blacksite area51. And this is with my
x1950 pro not my new ones

FYI, Its one thing to be book smart another to have hands on experience with something. so just because it says nothing about a fix for a certain game dosnt mean anything.

WHQL means it went through the MS certification process. The "official" date may be older on the hot fix ones, but the WHQL drivers are probably truly older. Those WHQLs could have been sent to MS for certification a couple weeks ago.

Incorrect. It's a good rule of thumb. There are exceptions from time to time, however, like the one you mention.

You need to chat with martin because even he says to wait longer than I do. I'm just a realist here. Don't jump for a new driver build the instant it comes out. It may turn out to be a stinker. It's just common sense, not paranoia.
