45 min installation?

I started it on two PCs (two legal copies). Started it on my son's PC, P4 3.2 Ghz machine and then on my Core Duo 2.4 about 2 minutes later. The they Duo core took about 10 minutes and finished at almost the exact same time as the P4 3.2.

I was surprised considering GEARS took a staggering 45 minutes on my core duo last week.

Both machines running XPhome.

and set the DvD to master can help speed things up
ANy antivirus running

well.... dvd rw is about 3 months old.. and was top at the time.. maybe its the drive though ..i remember having problems with it b4....

Have almost the same rig and it took me about 12-15 minutes total.

And what is your dvd speed, how much read cache, seek time, is DMA enabled, is the DVD on the same controller as the HD?

my rig is very similar to yours and it took me between 6-8 minutes at most.

i have to say though that i reformatted xp pro just yesterday.
