    Instagib doesn't feel quite right.

Let me start by saying I've been playing Instagib since UT99. It's really the only way I play UT. I've played regular weapons only a handful of times since then. Anyway, something doesn't feel right in UT3. It still feels like UT, but something is a little off.

Quick question, does the crosshair turn red when you hit somebody? If so, something definitely isn't right because I've seen the crosshair turn red so many times without getting a kill.

Also, when you dodge + turn + shoot, you can see the shockbeam going on a diagonal, like it got lost while you were quickly dodging and turning. Maybe my timing is off since everything feels a little more sluggish than it used to, so I may be shooting too early.

Other than those two issues, it still feels like I'm playing UT Instagib, which is great. UT Instagib has always been 90% mental for me, and these two things have got me so frustrated that I can't even play right now. Maybe I'm just crazy at the moment, but those things are really bugging me.

Feels perfect to me, except the fact that instagib mutator removes jump boots.

The crosshair turning red thing will not work properly online. It turns red if you click on someone on your screen, it doesnt account for lag. Just ignore it.

I figured lag played a part with the red crosshair thing. It throws me off for some reason though. Is there a way to turn that off by editing an INI or something? It would really help a lot.

I think my dodge + turn + shoot issue is me shooting to fast, who knows?

Don't get me wrong, it feels great to me too...just two minor things that were obthering me.

A point and click adventure game with only one item and one action, use <shock rifle> on <man> should good, making it 2 items (jump boots) would be confusing.

Epic thought it would be a good idea to that dumb red crosshair thing, which detects a client side hit only. The server doesnt give a **** if your client thinks you got a hit or not.

Don't underestimate instagib, there is a lot of depth in the movement "dance", more than you would think. And the jump boots were in UT99 instagib, and was nice for deck16II deathmatch and essential on some ctf maps.

Ya and I've been saying it since a month but no one listening to me... and I bet Epic will never fix this VERY IMPORTANT bug.

I hate it when I think I've hit the enemy but in fact I didn't...

It's a shame, as this would have been a nice substitute for hitsounds.

It's not a bug, it's a useless feature, though it is accurate if you got good ping.

And the pain grunts can be heard from the other side of the map, what more do you need?

I don't need anything to indicate whether I've killed someone or not, their body exploding is more than enough. Any type of indicator (when not working 100%) is worthless IMO. I don't remember any type of kill indicator in the older games and they were just fine.

The lack of boots doesn't matter to me. Besides, if you jumped with low gravity boots in Instagib, chances are that was the end of you.

Set the crosshair to the same color as the hit indicator, fixed.
