NO Anthology with preorder at Gamestop, did I get screwed?

Moral of the story: Do not preorder from Gamestop. In fact, don't bother preordering at all.

I ordered today and doing an in-store pickup at BB. Pretty simple....don't get what the benefit of spending money ahead of time of was when there are plenty of copies available on release day.

And the toys, T-Shirts and other gimmicks they give you for pre-ordering (ask yourself if it's really worth it?)

The deal is there was a skew mistake with the pre-order anthology at GameStop. My crew knew me so I didn't have any issues. In the anthology you get Unreal "goldish", UT GOTY, Unreal II, and 2k4 which oddly didn't come with a few UT2k3 maps so I was ever so slightly not happy, but free is free. I didn't see anything like a character card, though. Some nice fellow has posted a code to unlock them all anyways.

Well I pre-ordered the CE in a brick and mortar store just to be safe, and the money you spend up front is cut from the price you pay later, so you don't spend more.

i work at Gamestop and i went in today to bid farewell to a fellow employee (he is joining the Air Force) i saw the Unreal Anthologies and the my manager had them all marked as 19.99 i told him those are for UT3 pickups, he said i didnt know what i was talking about. he was still going through the shipment so maybe he misplaced the paperwork that states what those are for.

I thought the same thign was gonna happen to me, thats why i printed out the web page and highlighted where it says if its not oline, you get it when u purchase the game. The manger said he didn;t hear nething about it at all but, he gave it to me sinc ei had the paper and it clearly promised it.

That is the answer and what I'm going to do in about 40 minutes....

Nice. I was thinking about doing that. Actually, when I went out to my car I brought up the website on my phone and was going to go back in to show it to them, but I figured they didn't have any Anthologies in the first place, so it wouldn't help. Maybe I should go back lol.

I own 99, 2k3 and 2k4, but having the Anthology would be nice instead of digging up the old discs. Easy install, plus it has some of the regular Unreal series that I don't own.

Same here... the Gamestop associate told me she knew nothing about the anthology being included with the pre-order...
nor did she have a clue about any codes ..not that I need or want the unlockable.

I got mine without even asking.. I wasn't even aware of the promotion when I pre-ordered months ago. I was pleasently surprised!

i went to pick mines up CE and told there were no Anthology but i could buy one for 13 bucks i said BULLS**T you better read your ads, so after going round and round he called another store and yes i was suppose to get one with the CE and he had to write it off as a package deal. 1 problem solved.

lol then i said how about my character unlock code. he looking at me like i'm stupid cause he got a line of people. i go umm you need to call that other store again and he did they told yeah i was suppose to get an unlock code on a card needless to say he tells me we didn't get any of those but you can go a mile up the road and pick one up from the other store. i jus shook it off and left b 4 i got more ****** off.


also my collector tin has no embossing or special printing. jus a black painted tin wit the UT3 stuff painted over the black.

but it has all the other stuff inside

But UT 2003 and the Unreal Gold Edition arn't on the DVD so i have to hold on to those.

I also didn't receive my Anthology from Gamestop. It ended up me having to act like a ****, after calling their Corporate Headquarters, getting directed to go to the store and have the store call their Customer Service. They refused to do so, so I ended up calling their Customer Service and gave the phone over to the people at the store. Apparently even the regional managers of Gamestop were unaware of their own preorder bonuses, and refused to honor them. In the end though, I did manage to get it.

(I already own all the Unreal games, but it's about the principle).

i got mine from gamestop no problem. didnt preorder, called the store to see if they had extras prior to picking it up. would have just called around till i found one that had it.

i've had to ask specifically for the preorder box/items on games in the past.
but i dont see this as strange, they deal with so many games every month
it would be tough to know about all the bonus stuff their company is giving out.

if you ever have trouble just print out the page that says what you get,
and bring it in. should help
