16 million shades of gray, what gives?

Every map I've seen thus far is gray! What's up with that? The same gray concrete and pavement textures everywhere, gray-brown wood, gray rocks, gray sand... even Torlan is gray! Am I the only one that thinks this game could have looked so much better with a bit of color?

The game is very grey (or gray) but DM-Sentinel and a couple of others looked very nice with some cool looking liquid and lighter theme.

Man, I live in chicago. Its always gray here, and I still think the game looks gray.

Makes you want to gib yourself just to see some color.

Except that Sentinel, if I recall correctly, is grey-brownish too. Even the water, or whatever it is.

                That ain't water.

In all seriousness I'll need to reserve judgement for when I get the full game. On Monday. The 19th. 5 Days from now...

I'm sorry, but all I saw in those screen shots was an over use of gray and brown and the glaring fact that bloom covers up textures that should be better even though its kinda poor itself.

Increase digital vibrance on NVidia control panel.

If you have Geforce 6 or 7, use this panel to increase "Image Sharpening" to get crispier textures.

Other choice to increase sharpness for all NVidia cards, is adjusting "Mipmap LOD bias" with RivaTuner.

"Clamp negative mipmap LOD bias" must be disabled

you ll see enough colours when playing the game.
its one thing to look at a static screenshot but another thing to run and frag through the levels

The lighting is very monochromatic and yes the textures and other art assets seem very drab and dark.

I haven’t seen any Egyptian themed maps that have always been popular with UT games, even though they’re mostly light brown they always seemed bright with lots of gold colors, made for a nice backdrop to place colorful banners against etc.

well since the Nahkti/egyptians seem to have been axed in this version i doubt we'll see many pyramids this time around. i always liked them, hopefully a bonus pack...

was hoping for an urban themed CTF map - looks like thatll be user made... would be cool to see a new version of UrbanHotzone or Zeitkind in the near future!
