    - customize the enemy bots

    In ut3:
    - you dont have a name, you are "Player", live with it

Not to mention there are significantly less character models in the game when comparing to ut200x, but thats ok because you cant choose how to look anyhow.

After i first installed the game i went in and played the campaign offline for about 10 missions, i was curious about the online features so i logged on but then changed my mind and logged off to continue my campaign and guess what, the game erased all my progress. While i was thinking about throwing my monitor out the window i went into instant action to check out the necris vehicles, first map i tried "serenity_necris" has axon vehicles instead of necris.

The gameplay is fun, the graphics are amazing. But then menus suck, alot of critical features are missing and the game is full of bugs.
    Good day.
All of that really sounds terrible and I am shocked that Epic would do some **** like that. Here I have been defending them and they go and take away MANY of the things that made the game so much fun for gamers who didn't want to play online ... What really sucks is that I can't choose who I am anymore ... man that bites. Anyway I am still getting it because I do believe they will patch it and eventually get it to be the way we all want it (except maybe IU) and I want those modding tools.

How can features that you were smart enough to implement 8 years ago be missing from this title ?

The menu looks like its idiot proof, always asking you for confirmation.
It asks you if you are sure you want to start a new match, but when you change the game resolution no problem, no need for a confirmation dialog for that, as if starting a new match by accident is way more severe then changing the game resolution to something that my monitor cant handle.
Even installing the game takes less clicks then actually getting into a match from the main menu.
Some menu items get bigger at small resolutions, if you play at 640x480 (for example) a drop down menu takes up half of the screen, the server menu fonts get bigger and it shows less servers/page, it looks horrible.
Why can't i copy-paste to the console... You could do this in ut99 and in ut2004, what about ut3 ?

ALOT of features are missing, how the hell is this:
      [shot]http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7554/sorryepictp8.jpg[/shot]

      better then this ?
      [shot]http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/7606/sorryepic1op8.jpg[/shot]

How am i supposed to tweak the video settings individually ? Because *surprise surprise* turning off bloom or depth of field from the ini turns off all post processing effects, and *surprise surprise* with no post processing the nightshade is completely invisible.
Where are my sliders and check boxes for every single video setting ? I understand that you want it to be easy for the casual gamer to select his settings BUT, the more features the better, why didnt you add another "really advanced" screen with those options ?

      How is this:
      [shot]http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/1623/sorryepic3xn1.jpg[/shot]

      better then this ?
      [shot]http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/3465/sorryepic2rl6.jpg[/shot]

Where's my ping ? where's my player list ? where are all the server settings ? They were there in ut2004, is this the next installment or the previous installment in unreal tournament ?

Basic features! This game can't be only focused on the normal casual player, we, hardcore players, need basic features like watching the ping, and I know that wouldn't be hard for you guys to set on. We need demorec, we need utv, we need atleast a GUI like we had in UT2K4 and that wasn't enough anyway, the game was only playable after Lotus released UTComp, come on.
I am very surprised that as long as this game has been in the works we have to wait until a patch at a shot at more advanced options or features.Things that we had previously.

Ok but wouldn't you agree we should have noticed a few changes from beta to demo.

Hasn't the game been in development a decent amount of time already for what is being discussed.Actually they added another year too.

The UI being stripped is not a bug btw.
To me it seems people are pretty much saying it sucks because of confirmation prompts,no real advanced settings like in previous UT's,Lack of Server infos, and so on.

Perhaps they spent too much time trying to make it look pretty and had to let go of some things.I'd rather think that than think this is actually the done when it's done product.

j/k, but seriously, the game looks like a console port. I wouldn't mind if it was some new game with no history that was on a console first. But they made such a big deal about how it was built for PC gamers, they reassured us that we were their "bread and butter," that they can't afford to alienate us. I guess they decided we weren't worth that much, after all.
Kinda feels that way at this point in time.

Guys, don't bother with this. They won't change the UI. They won't ! So there is no point in digging on this one. The only way of doing this, is simply to make people not buy the game. And we are talking about a whole revolution in here. Imagine 50K people stating that they won't buy the game unless UI is changed. Now that would fix things up fast, yet many people just don't care and they take the game as it is. Also, there is no way of convincing 50K people not to buy the game...
I for one, the UI doesn't bother me. I agree that it looks kind of stupid, but it looks easy to navigate. It's up to them.

To be fair to epic, it looks great, i like how it functions, but it does lack options thats the only problem i see. epic can provide us with more later easily.. so hold on... they know allot of people dont like it.. no need to keep reminding them

can anyone who has GoW for the PC confirm that it actually has more graphics options than UT3? because if it does then there really is no excuse for the the lack of options...

I find this unacceptable. In the game's current state, I will wait to see what gets fixed in a patch before I buy it. Who knows how long that will be, seeing as how they have to focus on their console ports now (then again, this PC version looks completely console-ready, so maybe it will be quick).

My money won't be factored into this game's first-week sales figures.

If teammate and opponent bot customization isn't available after patching, I will not buy this game.

You don't buy a toaster find out it doesn't toast bread all that well and a man comes around your house every month to add bits to the toaster, to in 6 months have a fully functioning toaster!

If you are ignorant enough to think that every game is perfect when it is first released then please feel free to list some examples.

Also, the majority of the community is much too impatient to wait for a patch. And there is a reason they delete your threads, it's because all you do is whine and make it harder for them to do their work. Hmmm so much is wrong with that them deleting it makes more work, epic simply delete them because they don't want there baby being slated. I do like what I've seen in the demo. But.... it is hardly complete. Why not make us an all singing all dancing game. Don't go down the same road as EA for God sake!

Problem is, this toaster functions just fine. People are just upset it doesn't come with as many dials and blinking lights as the last toasters did.

UI is terrible compared to previous games, it's actually worse than the Hexen 2 interface.

This UI is a giant step backward. It is horrible. Where are all of the options that have been there in 99 and 2K4? Pretty disappointing.

However effecient the new toaster is at toasting toast, wouldn't you expect a new toaster to at least come with that little knob that allows you to select how dark you want your toast? I mean, the older models all had that, we loved it, why would they remove it?

It doesn't quite people have mentioned a few bugs I did say the toaster worked in the first sentence but not to a "toasty" degree
