UT2k4 Maps For UT3

I just saw that a ton of classic maps from UT and UT2k4 didn't make it into UT3. I know a lot of UT2k4 maps wouldn't work as well in UT3 but still. I am going to get some of my friends and we want to make some of the old maps for UT3 like Rankin and Curse and some of the 1on1 maps.
We only are going to do DM maps, maybe we'll even try to make Campgrounds!
Well If you know any mappers please tell them that they should remake some of the old maps. We can't afford to lose these classic levels.
If you want to see a certain DM map for UT3 please post and note features which may not work well in UT3 like dodge ramps.

Epic usually doesn't put many remakes into their games. In the case of UT2004, the following remakes were in retail: Deck17 [though it was community made], FaceClassic [community made], CTF-November, CTF-Face3, CTF-Curse4, DM-Morbias [made for 2k4], DM-Phobos.... there may be one or two others. But half of them were made for UT2003, half were new for UT2004. In all, there were only about four or five remakes in each game.

For UT3, the only remakes are CTF-Coret, DM-Deck and ONS-Torlan, which is pretty close to about right based on Epic's past history of supported remakes.

Also, Rankin is by no stretch of the imagination a classic level. A classic level would be DM-Curse, because of its age in the franchise. Same goes for Deck and Face. But Rankin? Wait a few more titles, then it'll be a classic.

Please, oh please make 1on1-Albatross, I loved that map! Even thoguht i want to learn mapping for UT3 so I might has well make it myself. But Camprgrounds is a must, I love that map.

Morbias wasn't remade... although DM Gael was it's spiritual successor...

I'm glad they made Coret for UT3, that map's been a classic since the UT99 demo.

Did they redo Morpheus for UT3 by any chance?

Rankin isn't a classic level per say but it was pretty much the most hosted map or most played map online for ut2k4 so I thought people may want to see it again. Although I would have to e-mail Hourences to tell him what I was planing. And I don't know if Alexander Lehmann and Paul Fahss worked on UT3 levels but I would want to remake some of their stuff. Of course I would try to get permission and credit the original designers.

please god no more rankin, I played it twice when it was only as a demo then never played it again... One of the least imaginative maps I've seen.

I wouldn't get your hopes up about Morpheus making a comeback to rival its popularity in UT99, the version in UT2004 (2003?) kinda dug the grave for it.

I'm glad coret is back, though I'm still more interested in the new maps...

I kinda miss CTF-Citadel.

Played the hell out of that in the UT2k3 demo. But once it 2k3 was out, people ditched it.

Ive been tossing around the idea of remaking the original Face map...but there is so much pressure there to make it perfect, pretty freakin daunting.

That didn't stop about 800 other mappers from doing it when 2k3 came out (not to mention the ton of remake/re"workings" that mappers did for UT99). The only person that ever remade the original FACE to justice was Teddy for UT2003, and he did it so well Epic bought it from him to use in UT2004...same with his Deck remake.

Crash isn't classic but I liked it that's why it's on the list. I know Epic won't be remaking them, me and hopefully others will although I would like to make some original stuff for my portfolio.
