    No Custom Crosshairs - Big Problem/Dissapointed

    Why are there no Custom Crosshairs in UT3 like every other **** UT out there. Is there a valid reason why they were left out?

    I depend heavily on each individual crosshair for each gun. The current default crosshair is horrible, UT3 is even more consolized than it previously was.

    Epic was talking about how this was the most customizable UT yet, or somesuch, but I think it was opposite day when they said all that, so that's why.

      I guess I'm in the opposite camp. I find the new crosshairs better than any of the previous UT's (except the uber dot from UT99). They seem a bit more beefy in size but they're consistent to the new player scale so its all good.

        Having Custom sized/colored/mapped crosshairs for the shock rifle and Lightening Gun in 2k4 did wonders, not being able to do that in UT3 hurts.
        I wonder if any mod's could bring all the ut2k4 crosshair customization to UT3.

          That seems to be EPic's attitude about a lot of things: "Yeah, cut this cool junk out, don't bother. If they like it so much, the community will make it. Just let them do the work so we don't have to."

            While usually I defend Epic, I think I have to agree with you here. Take Onslaught for example - that was outsourced to another company. If I recall correctly, the only part of it Epic made on their own from scratch was Torlan.

              If they don't make it, I will, because they probably will have crappy anti-cheat like UTSecure that will let interactions through.

                  Funny.

                  I PM'ed WT back in 2005 about custom crosshairs in (back then) UT2007. Thing is he responded and said he'd pass it to the team.

                    I wished I could disable it and go back to a single standard cross instead.

                    besides ... who says that the crosshairs can't be customised ? Just because the option isn't in the GUI that doesn't mean it's impossible. Get to know UnrealEd and learn to read code ...

                      If you modify code you won't be able to play online, the MD5 won't match. But even a separate class can blocked by 3rd party anti-cheat.
