have downloaded ut3 demo from sources such as gamespot
(have now tried six times) but keep getting error messages and no game
am desparate to try game
anyone know where i can get a working, playable demo?

Yup, I'm afraid so.

If you're looking to buy a new rig or upgrade, you should find plenty of threads on here from people in a similar situation, so that should give you an idea of the hardware you need
