I thought there will be a special Austria-Edition for UT3 which will be uncut, so I guess the normal German Edition will be cut, won't it?
But what I am interested in is: Will the Austria-Edition (as well as the German Edition) be Multilingual because I don't intent to play UT3 in German but in English (if it won't be multilingual I will have to buy the English version)?

Unreal_dan repliedI will play it as soon as it's on the torrent site on 12th.
Don't worry I already pre-ordered the CE, I just can't wait to see the maps and vehicles.

Discord 2.0 repliedOriginally posted by ScottUT View PostIs there a way to change the languages in the US version?
You'll find several sets of files with those values as extensions in your UT directory... open them in a text editor and you'll find things like names of mutators, death messages, announcement text (red flag returned et al), and anything else that might need to be translated.

isp_of_doom repliedI'd laugh if everyone outside of Germany boycotted the decision and didn't buy a single copy.

Hahahaha, lolololol. The German version includes the English version they said (just maybe with reduced gore). And the bloodpatch for the last game was out before UT2004 was in stores.

D2F[Leo] repliedOriginally posted by Wormbo View PostAs mentioned before: While feigning death you keep your weapon in your hand, unlike really dead players.
I played 2k4 in German for a while before I switched to English and among other things I noticed the disadvantage of not being able to see people's blood "in the air", e.g. when someone moves around a corner. You ARE handicapped with a censored version, even if the changes seem marginal.
Edit: About the compatibility question that came up here: As the uncensored UT3 version most certainly will have an option to turn gore off, I guess that the German version is compatible with it, just as in 2k4.

Somian repliedyeah, but you've gotto shoot them. If they are gibbed, you see that theyre dead, but this way (no gibs) youll (theoretically) always have to shoot them to make sure theyre dead or not.

Discord 2.0 repliedOriginally posted by Somian View PostIf there are no gibs, the players of the german version are a little handicapped. when someone is feigning death, he's just layng on the ground, but if you hit someone with the rocket launcher, you see, that he's dead and won't stand up. In the german version they'll all look the same, and it's harder to see who's dead, because everyone could be feigning death since there are no gibs that indicate death.

ixiWildflowerixi repliedOriginally posted by fuegerstef View PostAs a private user you can order any version online from any country.
It's illegal for companies to mail unrated or 18+ versions of movies/games without checking your age and verifying that you're an adult.
International shops aren't bound by German law so you can order there, but customs might intercept your parcel. You'll then get notice of that a couple weeks later and _if_ you're off age you can start with the necessary legal steps to have customs release your delivery. So you might get your goods a lot later than you thought you would, along with the hassle you've to go through.
There are some German shops that will sell imports, but since those companies will be held responsible for their actions, you won't find any that will do that without checking your age.

EDIT:
And since there is NO English in this version I will get both: The German (normal) version on the 12th and the international (Special Edition) on the 22nd.

Wormbo repliedUT2004 had no blood and bodies never gibbed. UT2003 had green blood and bodies didn't gib either. Both games had ragdoll deaths and mature taunts, though. (Even though the latter sound stupid, but that's an inherent problem with all audio localizations in Unreal games.)
