    I have three questions there:

    - What exactly is censored?

    - Is the german UT3 compatible to the other uncut versions, to play online worldwide?

    - Will it be possible to use the key for an uncut version? (e.g you buy both to play online with a friend and install him the uncut version with the key from the german UT3)

That would certainly violate some law.

I wasn´t talking about smuggling an uncut UT3 version onto the PC of immature players.

I was talking about two adult persons playing UT3 together using two keys for the same uncut version.

As long as I am adult, I can play in germany any game or watch any movie, no mater how violent they are.

It is just forbidden to advertise or sell games open, which are on the index, to keep children away from them. It just does not really work, the teens in germany get them by peer2peer.

The other thing is: games with nazi symbols are really forbidden, they are seen as propaganda, because games are not defined as some kind of art by law.

I just wanted to mention it, btw.

you are also not supposed to buy or sell several games like Manhunt or Dead Rising. It's just illegal, like selling heroine or something. No matter how mature the person is

They are some exceptions, but UT3 would be far from that, the uncut version will be on the index, thats all.

In addition to that, the fact that there will be a USK16 evaluated german version, will escape the rule of no advertising.
So UT3(uncut) is in not at all illegal in germany, if it is simply called UT3(dt.).

              Die spinnen die Deutschen !!!
              (means: The germans are bonkers)

              Now back to the topic:

Oh, I wasn't talking about that semi-stupid Jugendschutzgesetz or similar laws, but of copyright laws. From a copyright point of view you'd be doing the same thing as buying Vista Home to use its key with Vista Ultimate. (Don't think that'd work, but you get the idea.)

UT2004 had no blood and bodies never gibbed. UT2003 had green blood and bodies didn't gib either. Both games had ragdoll deaths and mature taunts, though. (Even though the latter sound stupid, but that's an inherent problem with all audio localizations in Unreal games.)

As a private user you can order any version online from any country.

                      EDIT:
And since there is NO English in this version I will get both: The German (normal) version on the 12th and the international (Special Edition) on the 22nd.

While true, that's pretty incomplete and gives the wrong impression.

It's illegal for companies to mail unrated or 18+ versions of movies/games without checking your age and verifying that you're an adult.

International shops aren't bound by German law so you can order there, but customs might intercept your parcel. You'll then get notice of that a couple weeks later and _if_ you're off age you can start with the necessary legal steps to have customs release your delivery. So you might get your goods a lot later than you thought you would, along with the hassle you've to go through.

There are some German shops that will sell imports, but since those companies will be held responsible for their actions, you won't find any that will do that without checking your age.

If there are no gibs, the players of the german version are a little handicapped. when someone is feigning death, he's just layng on the ground, but if you hit someone with the rocket launcher, you see, that he's dead and won't stand up. In the german version they'll all look the same, and it's harder to see who's dead, because everyone could be feigning death since there are no gibs that indicate death.

If you shoot somebody who's feigning you'll hear a pain sound, same as if they were up running around. Happened to me just last night in fact.

yeah, but you've gotto shoot them. If they are gibbed, you see that theyre dead, but this way (no gibs) youll (theoretically) always have to shoot them to make sure theyre dead or not.

As mentioned before: While feigning death you keep your weapon in your hand, unlike really dead players.
