Sound Card Recomendations?

there is a bit of a bug with some systems where it won't play out the rear speakers

thanks for the brief review... I'll probably add it into my list of 'to buys' which should hopefully be complete (if I get the job I applied for ) by Christmas. Rear speakers don't bother me - I'm still in the stone age with 2.1's. I've been to the 5.1 but found it wasn't all that amazing. I really need some decent monitors for editing though.... hmmm... soo much to get with so little money (read = broke)

Sony F-520 ...wow. It's a CRT however, the best one ever made...ebay is the only place to get them they will show up every once in a while.

if u got a 'new' motherboard, the soundcard on the motherboard is fine (I got Gigabyte P35 and it works perfect, inculeds AEX)

X-Fi Music and up are good soundcards for 3d games, regardless if you have a 5.1 system or earphones. I prefer playing with my Sennheiser HD555 Stereo headphones, the cmsss 3d function of the x-fi really shines with them.

I meant monitors as in pro-level audio editing speakers. Just got me a 226BW (right alongside a 19" Samsung. Now all I have to do is nag Samsung enough for them to switch it for an S-panel...
