    I have a crappy 8600GT 512mb today.

I thought about 8800GTS but I think I am gonna wait for 8800GT which by rumour is gonna be cheaper and faster than 8800GTS.

There will be a release of a new 8800GTS that is gonna be better than the coming 8800GT.

yah, the new 8 series cards are bad news for me - it just means that the next refresh with the 9xxx cards is all the more far away.

Not that im going to get 1, I always skip a generation (or try to). Rather than buy a midrange every generation I get a high end every 2 - that way I get 1 year of high end gaming and the next at mid range - works better than constant mid range gaming I feel.

Simply for the future I would go with the 640 mb.

But if you look at this review, they get the same FPS... so for money I'd go with the 320mb.

Get the 8800gt 512mb, cheaper than both the 320 and 640mb version of the GTS.
213 euro last time I checked.

I only spent like a week with one 8800GTS 320MB till I had to get my second,
but 2x8800GTS 320MB pwns an OCed GTX easily

                        Grab an 8800GT

                        Nothing better for the price.

                          8800GT or HD3870 is where it's at.

Your CPU is bottlenecking your machine. I have a friend who has nearly the same build as you, and he's got the same problem. I'm pulling 60fps average, no lower than 30fps in blistering firefights @1600x1200 with everything maxed. Heres my rig:

Go with an 8800GT or wait for the new GTS (512mb or 1gb) to come out on December 3rd.
