what is funny about all these threads about DJ is that when the UT99 ers said we dont want it in the game etc ... I remember the words used by the 2k3/2k4 crowd was its a new game so learn it or go back to playing UT99, which is what many of us did...

Yeah, right. If there were no custom modifications, skins, maps, etc. I, for one, would have gotten bored with this a LONG time ago.

I understand... but one thing that really bored me is to wait for STUPID files... i dont know... i feel some modifications ruins the game.

Look at Counter Strike 1.6... same game over the years and people still play it.

If you get bored quicly, then you should play other game for a while.

I play Starcraft since 1998 and i still love the game. I dont need modifications.

I dont remember saying that anyone should "have" to play by the stock settings. Although since you brought up instagib do you not think making it have its own gametype as in iCTF took some players from CTF. Ideally I would like to see Epic implement mutator rotations like map rotations where mutators can be chosen at random based on a % or something so people do play mutators alittle more often over stock settings. But I guess you havent seen all my posts.

Im always for mixing things up but you referring to yourself as "usually an instagib player" is exactly what Im talking about, why arnt you also a instagib player? The reason you barely saw the UTClassic mutator ever used could be because UT players stayed there for the most part and played by 2k4 rules when they played that game.

I guess it'll never be united as long as we have people who are "usually an instagib player" around or CTF only players etc etc. Im kinda glad Epic only included vCTF so people got a chance to break the mold even if it is only until retail.

I am interested to see how lowgrav plays out specifically on shangrila because of the aggressive use of blocking volumes (didnt help mind you lolz) but yeah the mutator itself wont kill the community but take a look around at the forums atm and tell me the attitude of the community (stereotyping sorry guys) wont tear itself apart.

Incorrect. The way I see it, this option would not be as simple as you believe if they also had to 'perfect' maps that would actually play under those conditions in a manner that would 'satisfy' those demanding a return of the double jump that was not considered in the core design of this version, and using up resources to fulfill this request would not benefit the overall community.

I just explained why it is a bad idea to include it as an option out of the box. If the devs do it, enjoy, if not, then let the community deal with it after the fact. The devs have many more important things to fix and, IMO, it would be a waste of valuable resources to bother with your so-called 'simple' request.
