Dodge Jumping

Hard to believe all these posts claiming dodge jumping is for those with no skill. I started playing 2k3 and immediately started playing translocator, low gravity, instagib, 135 speed CTF and BR. I loved how fast it made the game. It took a lot of time & practice to keep up with even the average players who played this type. Dodge jumping is just another skill to master. Those who say its for players with less skill makes me laugh. You are the same guys that came into servers I played in and cried that we were botting because they couldn't keep up or kill us. Not that those of you who chose different styles lacked skill, it was just takes different skills to play at the pace we chose to play.

I got ****ing roasted in #Beyondunreal chat the other day merely for mentioning DogeJump. So clearely its a contentious issue. I actually prefer it Ut99 style. My point I was trying to mention in chat was that the dodge jump in 2k4 gave us hardcore ut players a lot of bad habits. On FaceClassic in 2k4 for example I became an expert at carrying the flag whilst dodge jumping backwards accross the map whilst defending myself. It bacame usefull. But now its not there any more so a lot of people will complain about it.

No doubt there will be a mutator...

Thanks Senji! Game just doesn't move fast enough for me with out dogde jumping. Jedi, my favorite move was in BR Anubis, coming into the opposing team's side of the map with the ball. I would dodge jump, throw the ball into the opposing teams goal room, while in the air turn around and frag my opponents, land on the ball and score. Fast and fun.

I have to add my 2 cents in on the dodge issue!

I believe it is a matter of opinion for what version you adapted to the most!

I personally want to address the issue about ppl saying that there is no skill involved in the UT2k4 movement!

How can you say that cause the ppl that cant move and just shoot dont make it in ut2k4! maybe that is there concern?

Alot of skill in movement and wpn use combined made UTk4 IMO the better, this is just my opinion, and instead of arguing, im just going to state my reasons for this belief.


From what I read and seen from playing all the UT's is this UT99 yes good players and skill as far as strategies and aim, gg dont get me wrong.

UTk4 skill level is set higher than UT99, you need aiming, wpn use , strategy, and movement.

I hope to god that there is a mod/mutator made for UT3 or I definitely will be burning this copy after waiting on this game for some time now just to get let down!
