Funny to see how offensive some of you are about someone who just stated his opinion about the game, and dosent think its perfect. It's even funnier to see you calling people that listen to stryfe as "fan-boys" when you are the ones who are defending this game so fanaticly and rejecting any opinion that criticize the game automatically.

by the way - things like weapon balance and armor balance dosent have anything to do with stryfe being a "pro" player. those things can hurt the enjoyment of every player whether competitive or not, so as skins visibilty.

No one asked for neon-skins **** but yes the skins should be visible atleast like they were in UT99 which is fine by me, hopefully the version that stryfe played was just older and visible skins werent implented there, but if its not the case then hell yeah Epic should do something about it or else you might see neon-skins again.

Brightskins will be needed within the first 15 minutes of installing.
As you can see here, he did.

They were playing on Dell laptops fitted with the Agea Physix cards... One of the first things he said was that he couldn't see much of anything because frame rates were so low... Due also to the fact that they were playing on a map made specifically to showcase the Agea Physix card.

This isn't a good map or PC to judge anything on imo.

I'm not sure if my post was read or not, but I'll mention something I came across to have asked in it.

Wasnt the the build Stryfe was playing(with the tornado level) before Epic added there new and improved skin material which changes in brightness of the skin depending on the distance of the character?

Bright skins DO NOT mean Neon "glow stick" Skins. Bright skins could be that Epic Brighter that Lotus released and many people prefer.

i read that and considered it a good point. however, i don't know that we can make any comment about what build of ut3 he played. he doesn't share that information and probably didn't know.

personally, i'm content with the fact that epic considered skin visibility and player model scale to be an issue enough to work on it.

The level was, if I recall correctly, designed by Agiea and not Epic and will not even be shipping with the game. Agiea probably knows much less about level lighting tweaks than does Epic (just a hunch) which may very heavily effect player visability with the new engine. I'm not saying this was the case here but it's worth considering as a possibility.

For reasons that have been discussed at length, most higher-level players typically ONLY play on UtComp servers, as they feel it enhances the game experience... But make no mistake, if I decided to dual Killu on a stock demo server, I would be lucky to not finish with a negative score.
You guys bring up an interesting point. I always argue with my father about how Tiger Woods would do playing with MY golf clubs and on MY local course. I tend to think that he wouldn't do AS good as when he was using his own clubs or on a course familiar to him (the equivalent of brightskins, hitsounds for us), though he would still pwn me.

My father, who is an avid golfer (and much wiser and more experienced than I ) thinks it doesn't matter *AT ALL* lol. He would win by the same margin no matter what his equipment and location setups were, according to my pops.

It's a tough point to argue on both sides...

                    Sounds like..

Sounds like the Digital Life showing of UT3 was pretty lame. Stryfe was playing a crippled non Epic map w/gods only knows what build of the game. Sad, very sad. Does it seem like momentum is not picking up? Mark's latest interview was like the most cautious I'd ere seen him and Midway delays the PS3 version, which may be why Mark was sweating. I dunno, weird things going on. I hope it all gets cleared up soon!

The PS3 Version isn't delayed. As already said by wiser men than me, a fiscal year isn't the same as a year, we're already in Q1 2008.

Mark confirmed that they are still TRYING to get it shipped before the end of the year. That doesn't sound like Nov, but at least before Xmas would be good. Crosses fingers for the PS3'ers!

bersy, brightskins is'nt the same as neon-skins.

I think even the most pr0h4xz0rs player would prefer bright normal skins over neon-skins, stryfe too.

Example, I like UT3 the way it seems now. If Epic adds Bright Skins that corrupt the artistic flavor of the game and alters things to a point where it's about competitive skill only and not just general fun for me and others it creats a problem for me where originally things were fine (in my opionion). Just food for thought
Hey I’m with you... My concern is the way everyone goes about giving honest criticism. You can criticize without attacking. I mean honestly there’s no need to attack someone who’s giving there honest opinion as they see it. If it’s a good old fashion debate hey I’m with you. If you’re attacking someone because “its another crybaby pro” quote unquote then it becomes just ridiculous. And pointless…

i didnt think the game played choppy at all for a old build on those laptops. Me and my cousin were having hella fun playing it and did not have problems seeing people as original poster said. Just wait for the demo before complainin about so much stuff.
