bersy, you're completely wrong. before UT there was Unreal and there was definitely a community then.
I've seen it a lot of times. Perhaps there are just people here that know they think just like him. But from my experience most of the times this kind of stuff happens people just blindly follow someone with supposed credibility.
My tip is still to wait. Your speculation over unbalanced weapons won't really matter anyway since it by 99% chance won't affect the release product.

and please, show me what people accept his opinions as truth with zero qualifications?

From what I read it sounds like nothing but good news in UT3 to me for the most part.
Only two things I can comment on are the Biorifle and visible skins, which I'm sure they wont be that much of a problem either when the real deal ships.
PS: I cant remember but wasnt it told that this Agiea physics demo did not include the new material for player skins which Epic claims will be in the final build and that it makes skins much more visible?
If so it makes sense why Stryfe commented that they were in need of brightskins(because he didnt get to play with the new skin materials). If not, he at least said they were brighter then UT2k4s which is perfectly fine for me.

Stryfe gave his honest opinion of how he felt about the game, you can’t knock the guy for that. I mean hell give the guy a little bit of credit he does know a little something about the UT games. So take his review as either honest feedback or take it as a grain of salt either way it’s all part of the review process. Good games get reviewed and reviewed and reviewed and hell reviewed again, and after everything is said and done you go with majority because the bottom line is you’re not going to please everyone. You can only appease the majority and if you’ve reviewed it enough times you can do that with any game. And I think Stryfe and any other true gamer understands that.
You can either be part of the solution or part of the problem. Stryfe was trying to be part of the solution and give his honest opinion. So my suggestion is quit being part of the problem and be part of the solution without all the name calling, otherwise don’t say anything at all.

I’m not sure if it’s out of jealousy or insecurities but It’s stuff like this that really puts a damper on the unreal community. How can anyone including Epic take a community serious if we’re constantly attacking each other.

Stryfe just told how it is ok? and imho that's awesome!

tbh, what worries me the most over all this is the simple facts.
Having "Pro" gamers testing the game play is fantastic in some respects, but not in others.
just because they have a title or get recognised everytime they enter a server does not mean they know how well a game should play or how weapons should be used.
What feels great to them, or feels better, could be utterly **** for the rest of the gaming community.
There is so much info that should be taken from the higher skilled players, just simply because they take alot out of the game.
I remeber in the days of the original UT, you got sniped for awhile you would be like "WTF" these days, you have a big bright *** head which you may as well add a big bloody arrow saying "AIM HERE"
I do use competitive mods my self, as i have to learn and adapt to what everyone else wants to use, but the simple sad fact is bright skins takes so much of the thrill out of the game in some respects, yes i know it can still get exciting matches, but there is no more "hiding" there is no more "sneaking" in the sense of being seen, yes i know you can move around rather silently in other UT series.
i personally will always play that is demanded the most, but it breaks my heart to see a game get chopped up, modded up and altered because people cant see for **** :P
personally, i have seen very very FEW "pro" gamers that can do well without all these mods etc, imo it just shows how good they are :S
/end of moan, you can flame me now!

Okay, off of who stryfe is and why we should/shouldn't listen to him and back to what was actually shown/said.
(And yes, this was certainly an older build than what Epic is working on now, so all should be taken with a grain of salt)
Movement: It looks outstanding. Fast, low to the ground, and SOLID. I'm only unhappy that I don't get to see the translocator in there.
Weapons: As for the goo, I've got no problem with it having been boosted. It was the black sheep of previous UT incarnations - a few fans, but mostly ignored. It's been shown off a lot in videos and does seem extremely strong in the primary up close, but so was the UT99 flak. I'll wait and see the demo before judging. A 25-30 second stay time for the secondary blob is excessive only if there aren't several ways to remove it from a distance.
Sniper, shock, link, RL, enforcer, and flak all sound as if they're fine. Stinger may need a boost. These are tweaks, not major rewriting of code, and there's always patches if the community finds a major imbalance/exploit after release.
Armor: Hmmm. 199 health with keg, another 100 with belt, 100-150 armor, and immunity to the first headshot? Even with more damaging weapons, this sounds excessive. Particularly in CTF. Armor control looks to be more important than weapon control in DM.
Is the helmet actually visible on a player who has it? I haven't looked at the videos closely enough to tell.
Visibility: Any indication that the skins aren't visible enough is a concern - but given that he wasn't able to adjust the video settings, I'm not going to get hysterical over it. A little gamma tweaking and a good framerate can do wonders.

For reasons that have been discussed at length, most higher-level players typically ONLY play on UtComp servers, as they feel it enhances the game experience... But make no mistake, if I decided to dual Killu on a stock demo server, I would be lucky to not finish with a negative score.
As for the interview, I am taking it with a HUGE grain of salt in that it is obviously an early build, on a level that will not be released by Epic... The only thing that I am a bit concerned with is this helmet, but we'll wait and see I guess.
